Collaborative Opportunities in the Library in October:
- Students in Ms. Looger's, Ms. Robbins', and Coach Lacey's classes took a self-guided tour (created by the librarian using ThingLink, QR codes, and Google Drawing) of the library using the iPads for an Orientation.
- Ms. Robison's, Ms. Steitle's, Ms. Jett's, and Ms. Gibson's English I classes researched various topics related to Ancient Greece. Teachers and the librarian collaborated so that students could receive instruction from the librarian on the use of databases and digital note-taking. Their knowledge was presented and shared in a brochure or a Prezi.
- After attending the Churchill Cluster PD session given by the librarians, Ms. Eggleston was inspired to bring in her Business Law and Career Prep students to the library. They went on a Database Scavenger Hunt to become more familiar with the format and content.
- Ms. Garcia's and Ms. Haggerty's IPC students researched various Energy Sources and took digital notes before creating Booklets to share the information they gathered.
- Ms. Carrier's AP European History classes were the first to use our pilot subscription to EasyBib School Edition. They conducted research in the databases, imported the citation to EasyBib, and took digital notes in EasyBib. This web based tool allows for notes to be easily cited, organized, and associated with a thesis/outline for a paper, and then shared with the teacher electronically.
- Ms. Mann's GT Enlish IV students visited the library to research different philosophers and also were introduced to the EasyBib pilot subscription. They were treated to an introduction of Crime and Punishment through an oral reading in Russian by our very own Ms. Chertakovsky.
