What to Wear to a Job Interview
How to make the best first impression
What to Wear
Your appearance is the first thing your interviewer will notice about you. You want to appear well dressed and ready for the job you want. Your outfit also tells a lot about you, and it could be the deciding factor on whether or not you get the job.
Generally Acceptable Clothes Options
The Color Black
Black is a very neutral color. This allows for flexibility in the garments you wear. Black shoes, slacks, and a suit is acceptable in an interview.
Plain Tie
Wearing a tie with a pattern or graphic on it can be distracting and unprofessional. Wearing a solid color tie will make you seem prepared and ready for the interview.
Matching Socks
Take care in what socks you wear. It may not seem like a big deal, but the interviewer will notice the little things in your outfit.
What to never wear to an interview
Shirts/Clothes with words or graphics
Wearing street clothing like this makes you seem unprepared and extremely unprofessional. Inappropriate or shirts that make political statements are also very bad to wear in an interview.
