Tim Berners-Lee

Who is he and What did he create?

In the 1980s, a man was suffering from information overload. A man named Tim Berners-Lee daydreamed of a more organised way of storing information. Could he use his computer to create a space were any piece of information could be linked to any other piece of information in the outside world. He realised that to do this he'd have to link to ideas that had been knocking around quite separately for some time. The first was hypertext. The second idea was the internet. Berners-Lee needed to link these together to create a network of global hypertext. He called it the world wide web (www). Berners-Lee created rules to keep the people who used his invention safe. Tim Berners-Lee is still out there right now still passionate about what hew believes in. But the future of the internet, the world wide web and technology is in your hands. So, what are you waiting for?
