Love Is Indispensable
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me....
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Dear Family,
I can't believe that May is here; time has flown by!
This past month so much has happened. We had ELA and Math State Testing in the beginning of April followed by our Spring break. We are so very proud of our scholars and all the effort they put in. We only expect to see EXCELLENCE when we get the scores back. We had a pep rally to encourage our young leaders during their two weeks of testing. It was very uplifting to see our K-2 scholars and our staff members encourage and support our 3-5 scholars and it was evident that they appreciated it.
I pray everyone enjoyed their Spring Break this past week, and that we are all well rested and ready to finish the school year with a bang!
Graduation is right around the corner. It will definitely be hard to say goodbye to all of the amazing scholars, but I am excited to see them blossom and transition into young adults. We are so proud of our scholars for making it this far and expect nothing more than amazing results in their future. I am so proud to know your children; they are truly a blessing.
Please remember, if you have time to volunteer some hours please email your contact information and number of hours you would like to volunteer per week or month to tholmes@newhopecharterschool.org. There are a number of events coming up and we would love for you to be apart of it.
