Snacks and Drinks
Please have your student bring a water bottle and snack everyday! There is a limited supply of water and snacks in the office, and these must be saved for those students who are not feeling well.
Screenings
Yearly screenings are back this year! Please keep an eye out for an email listing dates for your student’s class.
Vision-Grades 4&5
BMI-Grade 4
Postural-Grades 5&6
Screenings are conducted privately in the nurses’ office. For postural, the girls should wear a sports bra or tight fitting camisole. If you choose to opt out, please just send an email to montic@wrenthamschools.orgRoderick Counselor's Corner

October’s word of the month, and focus for schoolwide classroom lessons, is Responsibility. Lessons have started in some classrooms and will continue throughout the month. Discussions have focused on responsibilities the students have at school and at home, effort and decision making.
What is it? Responsibility is doing what you are supposed to do when you are supposed to do it and accepting the positive and negative consequences of your actions.
Why is it important? Responsibility is an essential life skill and will allow children to become better students and constructive members of society.
What does it look like? Student responsibility occurs when students make choices and take actions which lead them towards their educational goals. Responsibility at home may look like the child waking up on their own or setting an alarm, packing their lunch independently, feeding the dog, unloading the dishwasher, doing laundry.
Fall Parent Conferences
Since a successful parent-teacher conference is a joint enterprise, we ask that parents arrive prepared with the following information for the conference:
- Your child’s behavior at home.
- Health habits, including eating, sleeping and general disposition.
- Use of time out of school, including play, reading, study habits, television, hobbies and interests.
- Relationship with parents, other members of the family, friends, and neighbors.
- Attitude toward authority and ability to accept direction.
- Observations of your child’s home and community life, which you feel, will help the teacher “know” your child. Your child’s feelings about school.
- Questions you may want to ask about your child and his/her progress.
- Suggestions which would help the teacher work more effectively with your child.
We look forward to making parent conferences a successful experience for all families!
