MoES Newsletter Quarter 2 2021
November 2021 - January 2022
Gator Parents and Guardians
Our teachers and support staff (Instructional Assistants, Custodians, Food Service Workers, Bus Drivers, and Front Office staff) have been flexible and responsive throughout the entire quarter. We are in a pandemic, and recovering from 20 months away from school. The challenges are tough, but we are doing whatever it takes to support each and every student. There is not a better group of people I want to work with than this team of professionals! They care about students and are willing to roll up their sleeves to support our school.
I am so very blessed to work with our community, and most importantly you. This is a collective effort. We have to work together in order to provide each and every child a safe learning environment where every student can be socially, emotionally, and academically successful. You have adapted to 2 significant weather events causing disrupted dismissals and school closures. You continue to support us with contact tracing and quarantining students even though this creates hardships for you. You communicate any issues with us and assist us to provide the best school environment for our students.
Our students are my WHY! They are the reason I show up everyday and give my very best. I am very proud of the growth I see in each of them. This is hard. We are learning how to be in a school setting again. We have to focus more on procedures and expectations than previous years. Students are working through ways to positively interact with each other. Students are doing the work to excel academically and to overcome any lost learning. I am extremely proud of our students! We are learning and re-establishing school together and I see improvements everyday!
We are getting there but we have to continue to function as a team. We need everyone to do their part to ensure every child is successful. Below is what we need from you, and in turn I guarantee that I will be here to support you and your child every day. I am a phone call or email away.
1) Do not send your child to school if they are sick, keep them home for 24 hours after the symptom, and if needed get them tested for COVID. If students are out with COVID like illnesses they can log into Schoology for their assignments and attend the virtual Google Meet tutoring sessions found on our webpage to keep up with their learning.
2) Please help with Social Media! Our kids are exposed to so much content on a daily basis. Some of this content is humorous, fun, and social in nature. While other content is destructive and counterproductive to the lessons we are teaching our children. Please monitor activity and set up restrictions.
3) Know that we are in this together. We are still in a pandemic and this is hard. School is hard, life is hard, work is hard, and we can go on and on. However, we are One Team and together we will accomplish our One Goal for every student to be successful.
Sincerely,
Troy Barnes
