The Role of the Amendments in the Constitution
What is an Amendment?
An amendment to the constitution is an improvement, a correction or a revision to the original content approved 1788. To date 27 amendments have been accepted, six have been rejected and thousands have been discussed about.
How is the Constitution Amended?
All 27 amendments have been ratified after 2/3 of the house and senate approve of the proposal and then have the states vote to see whether or not they approve of it. Then, three-fourths of the states must confirm they accept proposed amendment.
Role of the Amendments
As we know the amendments played a big role in the constitution. The amendments were a list rights the citizens of the United States were obligated to. The amendments still exist today and is large part of our government system and how this country operates.
