NEWS, RESOURCES AND LEARNING FOR PANTHER STAFF, 2/19/18
ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 19-FEBRUARY 23, 2018 Track 2 OUT
FEBRUARY PTA BOARD MEETING: The February PTA Board Meeting is Tuesday, February 20 at 8:15 in the Media Center. Please send your grade level rep.
BEN SCHOENEBECK BABY SHOWER: Ben Schoenebeck's Baby Shower is this Tuesday, February 20 at 4:30 in the Media Center.
LAST CALL FOR CONSIDERATION OF RETENTION FORMS: If you have a student or students that should receive a consideration of retention letter please copy and complete a consideration of retention form by the end of the day on Monday, February 19th. Students on the list should have a Tier plan, your grade level Intervention Committee should be aware of the student and you should have alerted parents of your concerns. List each area of concern as modeled on Google sheets form. If you have any questions please alert Lara or me.
STAFF MEETING THIS WEEK: Remember that this month's Staff Meeting is this Thursday, February 22nd beginning at 7:45.
RECESS REMINDERS: Please remind students that play outside should be safe. Students should not throw sticks or pine cones. Students should not roughhouse or play contact sports. Any class playing in the bus loop should place cones at the top of the loop and stay away from the office side of the building. Teachers should closely supervise and sit offending students out. Call the office if there are injuries and/or fill out an accident report. The majority of referrals continue to be sent for students at recess or on the way back from recess.

BOOK FAIR/READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY UPDATES
The Book Fair set up day will be Tuesday, February 27th with the staff preview being held that afternoon from 4-5:30. The Book Fair will run from Wednesday February 28-Wednesday, March 7th. Be sure to review the Google Cal as to additional morning and evening sessions to share with your parents. One of the highlights of the Book Fair will be a Dr. Seuss Green Eggs and Ham breakfast and Student/Parent Book Fair purchasing event on Friday, March 2nd from 7:45 - 9:15 for students, parents and staff on Read Across America Day. Go to Read Across America for ideas you can use in class.

DUTIES FOR THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 19- FEBRUARY 23, 2018
AM Hallway: Shipley/Blocker (Help greet parents/students, check with Ms. Person to see what is needed at the visitor sign-in tables or the carpool tag/ transportation table.)
AM Carpool: Fitzgerald (Help Safety Patrol, call for more help if needed, monitor carpool lane)
AM Breakfast: McEwen (Work with students regarding lunch numbers, encourage students to eat and get directly to class.)
AM Bus: Renfrow (Write down arrival times of buses. Work with Fricke to disembark students, trouble-shoot issues.)
Lunch Duty: Fitzgerald, Lavin, Johnson, Newman, Renfrow, McEwen, Brown, Bednar
(Start the track in period with consistent behavior expectations. STUDENTS CAN BRING A BOOK TO READ, BUT NOT OTHER OBJECTS (RUBIK'S CUBE, ETC...)
Work with one another to use the "warning" behavior system, train students to pick up trash/sweep, and inform teachers of issues. Do not allow students to flip bottles/get up without permission. Do not hesitate to move a student to a separate seat or to inform the office of repeated issues. Update the seating charts in the notebook as needed. The office will contact you (support staff) if necessary for coverage. THANK YOU FOR DOING LUNCH DUTY.
PM Hallway: Andrews (Check all students for tags in the bus line. If a student does not have a tag, inform Fricke and Ms. Britt ASAP. )
PM Carpool: Johnson, Newman, Perry (outside), Cooper, Shipley/Blocker (inside), Hopper (Specialists fill in- contact office is there is a change and to let us know who is covering) (Call carpool numbers. If a parent doesn't have a carpool tag, PLEASE INFORM THE PARENT that they should get one from the office.
PM Bus: Averett (Call one bus at a time. Write down arrival times. CHECK FOR BUS TAGS ON EACH CHILD'S BOOK BAG. Work with Britt and Andrews to trouble-shoot, solve issues. IF YOU HAVE CONFERENCES ETC... LET THE OFFICE KNOW ON MONDAY MORNING.)
