ARJH Weekly Parent News
Week of February 17th, 2020
Message from your Principal
This is our last week of the 4th 6 Weeks grading period with an early release day this Friday, Feb. 21st. We are working towards helping students finish strong academically and at the same time, balance their social and extracurricular activities. This time of year can be stressful for families as they try to fit everything into a busy schedule of work, school, after school practices, games and family obligations. I definitely remember how much coordination it took to get my three kids to all of their school events, after school baseball and dance practices, homework and projects completed and feed them dinner before bedtime so that we could do it all over again the next day. All three of my kids have turned out just fine despite the number of nights we had McDonald's drive-through dinners on the way to practices! As a staff, we understand the busy lives of our kids and work together to support them.
As a former school counselor, I led many student group sessions where we focused on time management and stress management- the take away for my kids centered around having a weekly plan for academics and developing a growth mindset around the inevitable challenges in their lives. Our Longhorn staff is committed to helping our kids succeed and want to be a partner with you- please let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
Thank you for sending us the best of the best!
Have a great week!
Dr. Sanzo
