ATTENTION COLLEGE BOUND SENIORS---SCHOLARSHIP SEASON IS HERE!
Finding Scholarships Using Naviance:
Using your Family Connection page, click on Colleges and scroll down to Scholarships. Remember to check this list weekly.
You will hear it from us time and time again – APPLY EARLY & APPLY OFTEN. If you miss a deadline and send your application in late, you go to the bottom of the pile. If you skip out on an award because you think you don’t have a good shot at landing that award, you could be missing out on an opportunity for some generous funding, and free funding that you won’t need to pay back.
When you’re ready to start applying, it’s important to get organized. One of the most important steps once you find an award that interests you is to read the directions, qualifications, and fine print carefully. Be thorough and honest. Answer every question and always proofread your information for accuracy and spelling. Be sure you contact each provider in the manner they've requested, whether it's by email, fax or formal letter, as it’s important that you follow the directions of any scholarship application to the letter.
The major Scholarship Organization “Dollars for Scholars at MRHS will be having a meeting with all seniors coming up soon.
Thanks-
The Counseling Team

Athletics Weekly Summary
December 22nd - January 4th
Written by: Caroline Howard
Have you ever heard the one about “When the cat’s away, the mice will play?”. Well, I think the mice have been out for too long! Our cats, or also known as our Sharks are back in the building! And just to clear things up, our facilities are mice free in this new school, so that is one big bonus! Anyways, the holiday season has passed and the days of sleeping in are over folks! But our winter athletes have been very busy over this break, so without further ado….. I give you the outcomes of our Basketball and Hockey games!
On Saturday the 22nd our Cape Cod Furies had a big game against Martha’s Vineyard. The girls took a ferry ride over to the Vineyard and geared up for a great game. The game kicked off at 1 o’clock, and the Furies started off very strong. The Furies very own Connor Boucher popped two goals in the net, but the Vineyarders held onto their lead until the very end 3-2. Great effort girls and a nice game!
The hockey continued into the week with the Monarchs playing against Wareham Carver on December 26th. The Gallo Ice Arena didn’t know it yet, but they were housing a big game. The Monarchs found themselves down after the first period, but ultimately came back in the second. Senior Noah Tambolleo popped one in the net off an assist by Senior Cameron Archibald. Still, the Monarchs found themselves tied with the Vikings until the very end when Senior Cole Currie buried one in the net with just 37 seconds left on the board! This led to the Monarchs taking the game 2-1 and leaving their record 3-1-1! Great work boys!
The following day our Girls Basketball team battled off against the DY Dolphins. The Sharks traveled over to the Lagoon on that anxious Thursday night. At the half, the girls found themselves a few steps behind the Dolphins and were trailing their lead. That was until our Sharks stepped onto the court again. The girls completely opened up the game and ended up leading until the very end 40-29! Way to work girls! Way to work!
The 29th brought around the Boys Basketball game against Plymouth South! Boy was this a close one! The Sharks traveled down to Panther territory and had one heck of a game! Big plays were made by both the Seniors and Juniors of the Varsity team. However, these Panthers struck hard and fast when it came to sinking baskets. The overall score of this nail-bitter was 47-44, Plymouth South. Nice try boys! You’ll get them next time!
On the same day, the Monarchs Hockey team faced off against the DY Dolphins. This was a very fast and physical game, as both the Monarchs and the Dolphins have always had a rivalry. This game was close, but the Dolphins ultimately took the win 4-2 over the Monarchs at the final buzzer. But, our Monarchs showed great effort and stamina! Nice try boys!
The Cape Cod Furies kept the streak going of the Winter Sports teams playing on the 29th, and as the puck dropped, it began the fight of the Furies against Bishop Stang. This game was sure one to watch! The Furies held a strong defense the entire game, as well as offensive opportunities to bury one in the net as they did in the second period! But, the Furies would find themselves struggling at the end with Bishop Stang taking the win, 6-1. You’ll get them next time ladies!
On Thursday, the Monarchs we’re back at it again with a game against the Cape Cod Tech Crusaders at Charles Moore Arena! The boys played a great game and walked away with a win and made their record read 4-2-1! Way to go guys!
That is the first, but not the last column for this new year! I’m Caroline Howard and Go Sharks!!
