Quotes
"I don't think i'm destined for love"
I think this quote has significance because Emily believes she will never find love and that it is not planned for her in the future, to have someone fall in love with her and to be able to marry someone.
'I thought you were a grown lady -- you know life is neither fair nor kind"
This quote said by Emily has significance because life can be really tough sometimes and can seem really unfair to someone. Also life seems sometimes like it is unkind, with some of the challenging obstacles it throws at people.
“No books!” I exclaimed. “How do you contrive to live here without them? if I may take the liberty to inquire. Though provided with a large library, I’m frequently very dull at the Grange; take my books away, and I should be desperate!”
This quote has significance because books to Charlotte, mean a whole lot more than just a bunch of pages put together. Books had inspired Charlotte to become the great writer/novelist she grew up to be.
Main Conflict
Sisters Emily and Charlotte Brontes have to figure out if there is a connection between local burglaries, rumors that a neighbor’s death may not have been accidental, and the appearance on the moors of a mysterious and handsome stranger.
Most Important Point
I think the most important point in the story was when the mysterious man started showing up and when the Brontes got robbed.
Resolution
At the end of the book, Emily and Charlotte discover it was Mr. Heaton all along.
