7 Mindsets

Live to Give teaches us to stretch ourselves to be our best self every day, make a difference each day by doing small acts of kindness, receive gracefully and feel worthy of receiving new and wonderful things, and to leave a legacy.

This mindset also teaches that the greatest gift you can ever give is finding and leveraging your unique genius to maximize your positive impact on the world, knowing that good things will be returned to you in kind. Mashburn is supporting Forsyth’s Holiday House and Forsyth families by donating gifts this holiday season. Donations will be accepted through November 30th. Live to Give!

A Note From Mrs. Smith

What’s your legacy? This month we are learning about Live to Give. I know it’s morbid to think about, but what is it that you want to leave behind when you are gone? For me, as a mom, my legacy is leaving behind two girls who are kind, loving, happy, independent, and who know they were loved. As a professional, I hope my legacy is knowing that I have supported teachers, students, and families to be the best they can be. What’s YOUR legacy? How can you stretch yourself, grow, and change to leave a legacy that aligns with your passions?~Mrs. Smith

Spelling Bee

Congratulations to all the fabulous spellers who participated in today's spelling bee. The first place winner was Dakotta Hardin and the runner up was Kali Singh. Dakotta will represent Mashburn at the Forsyth County spelling bee.

2nd Annual Live to Give Project

Last year Mashburn filled over 90 backpacks with supplies and food for homeless men and women in Atlanta. This year we are teaming up again to provide families in our county with a little holiday joy! Each year in Forsyth County, hundreds of parents struggle to make the holidays special for their families. Join us this year as we invite you to bless these families! Look for more information to come home with your child on Monday, November 2nd after our Live to Give house meeting. For more information contact Chelsea Buchanan at cbuchanan@forsyth.k12.ga.us

Square 1 Art Packets

Square1 art packets are coming home this week! Your child’s artwork is a perfect gift for the holiday season! The Square1 fundraiser helps support the art program. ALL ORDERS ARE DUE BY DECEMBER 1ST! All orders will be delivered to the school by December 15th and sent home in time for the holidays.

We need your help!

Thanks to everyone who has taken the Georgia Parent Survey. We still need a few more to reach our goal of about 400….. This helps us get the 5 star rating for our school on the CCRPI (College and Career Ready Performance Index) indicator. It takes about 3 minutes to take this and we really need the input! You can find the survey at http://apps.gadoe.org/schoolclimate/parents.nsf/Survey.xsp

Thanksgiving Donations

The Place of Forsyth County, Inc. has asked Mashburn Elementary School to partner with them for assistance during the Thanksgiving season. Mashburn Elementary School has been asked to donate Canned Turkey Gravy.

190 families have already requested assistance for the holiday and they expect about 100 more. Canned turkey donations will be picked up by The Place on Friday the 13th!

Please let your students know that they can drop off their donations in drop boxes in the front office and media center.
