Dear Salcha families,

I cannot believe we are heading into our very last week of school for the academic year. It has been an absolute blast. Outdoor school was such a valuable and fun time for our students. They learned so much about science, nature, and safety while enjoying the many activities provided by the various stations. I appreciated our hard working staff, as well as our very generous volunteers, all of whom played a critical role in making this event possible. Thank you!

This week will consist primarily of end of the year classroom activities. On Wednesday, the students will compete in an outdoor ninja warrior course at 10:30 AM (families are welcome to watch). Friday morning will be our 5K race followed by awards/graduation assembly beginning at 11:00 AM.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are all early dismissal days, which will be at 2:00 PM.

Friday, May 19th, to celebrate the last day of school, there will be an end-of-year picnic lunch for all students, staff, parents and their families at noon following the graduation/awards assembly. Please join us! The SPTG (Parent/Teacher Group) is organizing the picnic but we need everyone's help. We are asking that every able family bring or send a dish to share. See flier below for more information.

The first day of school will be on August 17. I have attached the 2023-2024 academic calendar below this letter. I would like to thank you all for a wonderful school year and I truly hope you and your family are able to make the most of this summer. You have earned it.

• May 17 & 18 & 19 - EARLY DISMISSAL (2:00 PM)

On our last day of school, May 19, we will be holding a 5K student race. We will be needing volunteers in various locations so students remain on the course. Sign up to volunteer on this day using this link: https://forms.gle/KNrvxfY5X5ezphNn6

Salcha Community Library and Museum are open on Saturdays from 1-4 pm at the Salcha Senior Building. The Library has lots of children's books and videos. Books and videos do not need to be returned but can become part of the family's library. Both will be closed for the Easter weekend but all other Saturdays both are open.
