Owl Notes

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 3

Big picture

THINGS TO KNOW...

*Where is time going? Can you believe we are already into February??

*Sci://Tech is this Saturday at the Lone Star Convention Center. It is from 9-4. If you are signed up to help, please make sure to arrive a few minutes before your time starts in order to get parked and into the center. Also remember to not leave until you have someone take your place. We do not want to leave students there unsupervised.

*Team Leader meeting is Monday.

*Gretchen Montgomery will be here on Monday. Please reach out to her for assistance with anything math.

*The visiting author will be here on Wednesday. Please see email from Maria Falcon for a schedule.

*Foundations team will be out on Tuesday at training. If there is anything you want them to discuss, this is a great opportunity.

*MAKE PLANS - With us taking February 17 off, we will be staying on Monday, February 10 for calibration testing. Please make plans to be here that afternoon to participate in the testing so that Kara does not have to offer a make up session. There will be 2 or 3 rooms where testing will take place so that everyone can test at the same time.

*Lounge - if you eat in the lounge (and we hope you do) OR if you use any of the dishes to provide treats, please make sure you wash, dry, put away and clean up after yourselves. There has been a stash of dishes just sitting in the sink for a week or so now. Cleaning up after ourselves ensures that at least do our part to help reduce the "roach attracting."

*Just a reminder that our work hours are 7:30 - 3:30 (or when the last student leaves). You are expected to be in the building by 7:30.

*If teachers get updated information about phone numbers, email addresses and/or living address, please make sure Virginia gets that immediately!

ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

*Third and fourth grade teachers as Dr. Winkler walked all of your classes this week.

*Kara and Becky for helping set up for "orange" day.

*Rachel Miller, Maria Falcon, Hillary Soniat, Rachael Fuller, Becky Playfair, Missy Giammatteo and Shelby Harvey for helping ease the burden of GT testing.

FOCUS FOR 19-20

ENSURE THAT GOOD QUALITY INSTRUCTION IS TAKING PLACE IN ALL CLASSROOMS BY FOCUSING ON:

*integration of technology

*implementation of guided math 3x a week

*improving Tier 1 best practices

SUGGESTION BOX

Okay, it was mentioned to me that the link no longer worked. I've updated it so if you try it and it doesn't go to the "Suggestion Box," please let me know. Just a reminder that suggestions can be made anonymously if you don't want your identify known. If you have suggestions and/or concerns throughout the year, this is one place you will have to let administration know.
