Eaton Parent Newsletter

March 4th, 2022

Dear Eaton Families,

We enjoyed celebrating National Read Across America Day on Wednesday. Students participated in fun activities with their class. We enjoyed sharing a love for literature and reading. Our 5th graders enjoyed a field trip to the Cameron Art Museum this week. A great time was had by all!

Tuesday, March 8th, is a Teacher Workday, There is no school on Tuesday for students.

On Thursday, March 10th, our Eaton Battle of the Books team will be competing at the district level. They have worked very hard reading 15 books (many books several times) and have memorized the smallest of details. We are so proud of our Olympians! Good luck!!

Next week is School Social Workers Week! Please join us in celebrating our SSW, Ms. Asjah Simpson. We are grateful to have her at Eaton!

Effective March 3, 2022, masks are no longer required on the school bus. Masks are now optional both at school and on the school bus for students, staff and visitors.

Lunch:

Lunch is free for all students. If a student arrives without a lunchbox, we assume they are eating a school lunch unless we are notified by the child or a parent. Students have the option of a hot lunch, or a cold lunch. If your child forgets their lunchbox and you are able to bring it to school before their lunch time, we are happy to deliver it to their classroom.

Lost and Found:

Our Lost and Found items have been placed on tables in front of the library. If your child is missing an item, please come by the school to look at the Lost and Found items.

District-Wide Communication Via Text Message

On Monday, March 7th, 2022, you will receive a text from the district asking you to opt-in to receive district-wide communication via text message. If you have already opted-in, then you won’t receive the text.

Attached is a flyer with additional information to opt-in if you are interested.
