TUESDAY - extended deadline for FLU SHOT CLINIC consent forms
Flu season is upon us again! Parker County Hospital District will be coming to our campus this Wednesday, September 27th to administer flu shot to Students and Staff. They will start giving flu shots at 7:15am and go until they have completed immunizations for all that wish to participate.
Important additional information….
- This clinic is for staff and students only.
Please, remember, you WILL NOT get the flu from the flu shot as it is an inactivated virus. Occasionally a person will be exposed to the flu before his/her body has had sufficient time to build immunity (about 2 weeks), or he/she gets a flu type not covered by the vaccine.
This year the CDC says “the vaccine has been updated to better match circulating flu viruses.”
Monday - Deadline to order HoCo T-shirts!

WISD Education Foundation Student Scholar Athlete of the Week
Each week during the football season the Weatherford ISD Education Foundation honors a Student Athlete of the Week on the 102.5 Chuck FM broadcast of The End Zone. The 3rd week's Student Scholar Athlete of the Week is Jared Ford.
Jared Ford has been playing football since he was 8 years old. He’s now a senior at Weatherford High School and an offensive lineman for the Weatherford Kangaroos.
Jared has been a starter and a Letterman on the varsity football team for the past three years. He was named to the Academic All-District team the past two years and named All-District Offensive Lineman his junior year. Jared is an all-around athlete and also competes in Track and Field events for Shot Put and Discus. Last year he took first place at District in Discus and placed in Shot Put. He advanced to the Area competition and placed 8th overall in Discus.
Jared is a member of the Weatherford FFA and is actively involved in the youth group at First Baptist Church Weatherford. He currently works at Walden’s Feed Store and is also preparing two locations for hunting season.
After high school, he plans to go to college and play football at the next level. Jared is the third child of Jeff (WHS Class of 1983) and Mitzi Ford. His siblings are Jace Ford (WHS Class of 2014), Jenna Ford (WHS Class of 2016), and Jancey Ford (WHS Class of 2021). Jared is the grandson of Arlon and Reta Ford. Arlon taught Biology at WHS for over 30 years.
Football, hard work, and dedication are important characteristics instilled into Jared from his family.
Congratulations to Jared Ford, this week’s Weatherford ISD Student Athlete of the Week.
