it is the cell when it splits it goes into each strand of a pair. When a new membrane forms around each of the two groups of chromosomes, division of the nucleus is complete. The four main phases of mitosis are prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.

why is it important?

it is important part in the development of embryos but also it helps our bodies grow as well. it produces more cells, and replaces old cells with the new cells. So that we will never run out of cells. And that is why mitosis is important.
