Santa Margarita Newsletter
For the Week of November 30, 2020
Message from the Principal
Greetings Mustang Families and Community Members,
Welcome Back! I trust you all enjoyed a relaxing Thanksgiving Break. As California continues to experience high rates of COVID-19, I want to reassure you that Santa Margarita Elementary School remains open and continues to implement our COVID safety protocols, as outlined in our COVID-19 Handbook. As an added precaution, we are asking families to please be mindful of the current travel advisory for non-essential travel which states:
1. Persons arriving in California from other states or countries, including returning California residents, should practice self-quarantine for 14 days after arrival. These persons should limit their interactions to their immediate household. This recommendation does not apply to individuals who cross state or country borders for essential travel.
2. Californians are encouraged to stay home or in their region and avoid non-essential travel to other states or countries. Avoiding travel can reduce the risk of virus transmission and bringing the virus back to California.
If you or your student(s) have been exposed to COVID-19 or are returning to California from out of state, please contact your child's teacher or our front office for guidance prior to sending your student to school. We thank our school community for being conscientious with regards to COVID-19. Your support helps prevent the spread of COVID-19 and helps ensure that our students and staff stay safe in the midst of rising cases in California. As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me at teresa.richmond@oside.us. I wish you all good health and wellness.
Your partner in learning,
Mrs. Richmond

MFLC services are confidential and there are no records kept. Our counseling services are Solution-Focused-Oriented. Additionally, I will host monthly presentations that correlate with the stresses associated with military service members and families, as well as the development of increasing emotional health. I am on campus daily and can be contacted at (760) 777-0296 for MFLC services.
