Sommelier's
Job Description
A sommelier is responsible for the development of wine lists, and books. As well as the delivery of wine services and training for the other restaurant staff. Sommeliers work with executive chefs to pair and suggest wines that will best complement each particular food menu item. A sommelier is usually paid an average of 80,000 to 160,000 a year. A sommelier is both a part-time/full time job.
Working Environment
A sommelier works in a fine restaurant with other restaurant staff, along with the customers of the restaurant.
Qualifications
- A certification from a recognized Sommelier academy
- Knowledge of how food and wine, beer, spirits, soft-drinks and other drinks work in harmony
- Must be able to work with other people
