Staff vs. 5th, 6th, 7th Grade Basketball Game!
TIME: 1:00 PM
PLACE: CMS OUTDOOR BASKETBALL COURT
The game will be played on the Basketball Court behind the CMS field. Parents and guests are welcome. Students are encouraged to wear red, white and/or blue. Since classes will be sitting on the grass watching the game, It is recommended they bring towels or blankets to sit on.
2-Hour Early Dismissal
There will be a 2-hour early dismissal on Monday, May 16, 2022. School will be dismissed at 1:25 pm.

School Nurse Appreciation Day!
Wednesday, May 11 was School Nurse’s Appreciation Day! A special thank you to Nurse O’Reilly for taking care of our students each and every day. She is kind, patient, loving, and simply the BEST! We are the luckiest school in the world!!

Thank you to the amazing CMS PTA, School Administration and our generous parents! Last week the CMS Staff was treated to lavish lunches, delicious snacks, sumptuous desserts, and several special gifts! In addition, each CMS staff member received a beautiful CMS replica from the PTA! Thank you all!

Are You Ready For Some Pie-In-The-Face Fun?
To join the fun, simply purchase raffle tickets to win a chance to "PIE" Mr. T, Mr. Smith, Mr. Nunes, Mr. Cingari or Mr. McGee! The cost of one raffle ticket is $1.00 – buy as many as you like. Tickets will be separated by "victim," and there will be separate drawings for each! You designate who you would like to "pie" on the order form. Choose one or choose them all!
The PIE-ING will take place at an All School Meeting on Friday, May 27!

"Imagine Sunflowers" at Silvermine Arts Center
The Middle School Art Enrichment students will be having an art reception at The Silvermine Arts Center on Friday, May 13 from 5:00-7:30 pm. Please refer to the above flyer and visit the website for details.
Also, we are currently working on a fundraiser web link to purchase a TOTE bag with collaged artworks for children impacted in Ukraine. We will share this link when it is completed.
CMS Spring Concert
We are excited and proud to announce that we will have a Spring Concert on Thursday May 26 at 1:30 pm and 7:00 pm. We will be featuring the band, chorus, and orchestra in grades 4 through 8. Please stay tuned for more information as we get closer to the date!
SPECIAL NOTES:
- Permission slips to participate in the concert have been sent home and should have been returned. If you need a another one please see Ms Murray.
- The Music Room is in need of tissues, antibacterial wipes and paper towel.

SBAC Testing for Grades 3-8
The SBAC testing window is from May 11 to May 27. Your child will be taking ELA and Math assessments during this window. 5th and 8th graders will also take a Science assessment.
The Smarter Balanced assessment system provides accurate measures of achievement and growth while challenging students to think critically and solve real-world problems. A core principle of the Smarter Balanced system is equity and accessibility for students.

NPS Family Center
Superintendent Dr. Estrella was joined by NPS Board of Education Chair Colin Hosten, Vice Chair Diana Carpio, BOE Members Sherelle Harris and Mary Ellen Flaherty-Ludwig, Mayor Harry Rilling, State Senator Bob Duff and other dignitaries for the grand opening of the Norwalk Public Schools Family Center. Norwalk Next Steps 18-22 Transition Program students and Wolfpit Integrated Arts School students also joined the celebration.
The NPS Family Center provides an easily accessible spot for family-facing school services, while helping to establish lasting relationships and meaningful family engagement throughout a student’s academic career.
