ID Cards

Student are expected to have their current La Mesa school ID visible at all times while on campus. The exceptions are during PE and when a teacher directs them to remove it because it may interfere with the classroom learning activity. We have provided lanyards to all students. They can hang from their neck, belt loop and oven out from their pocket, as long as it is visible.

As we check IDs at the gate, we are able to learn more names and interact with each student as they enter campus. Because all students have an ID with them our lunch line moves faster and the lines for purchases from the ASB window move faster. Students having IDs will also allow for us to more quickly account for all students during an emergency, as we have software that allows us to scan each card. Because teachers have a unique login, the scan lets us know what room they are in. We are also preparing them for having their ID on them regularly when they are in high school and start to drive in the coming years. And many jobs require staff to have ID visible at all times. In fact, our staff wears their ID cards as well.

Students who forget their ID at home are issued a temporary red ID that must be returned to the office at the end of the day.

Students may purchase a new ID card in the main office for $5 if theirs has been misplaced.

National School Counseling Week

This week is Nation School Counselors Week. We are very fortunate to have such a caring, professional, and kid-centered counseling team. They are here to support your child academically and social emotionally. Feel free to reach out to them for support or to let them know the difference they have made for your child.
