Films have long been overlooked as an educational tool. We teach our students literature that originated from all around the world, but we tend to forget that what often spurs the imagination is both visual and auditory. Films can liven up the classroom and bring energy to a course.

Find Your Field - Career Corner
The psychologist John L. Holland’s theory of career choice is more than a half-century old, but it remains an essential tool for vocational batteries and career counselors. Personality types and interests are sorted into six categories and matched with suitable careers. A three-letter Holland Code is often used to identify a cluster of strengths, and linked to particular majors for use in counseling. The O*NET job center website, sponsored by the Department of Labor, has a quick test to reveal your Holland profile. Where might you fit in? Consider these Holland-based personality/career matchups.

Jermaine Kamau - School Principal
For over a decade I have served as a school administrator in Trenton, Newark and now in Southern New Jersey. My personal passion for education began with me mentoring students while in college and currently has me serving as a high school principal of an alternative school for academically and emotionally challenged students. It is a fact that without a proper and effective education one's life has serious limitations. That's why it is critical that I create space for opportunities and make room for changes when needed. Many of my students have been put out of their district school for a number of reasons, my job is to remind them of their worth and challenge them to be their best each day.
