T20 WORLD CUP 2022

What will India do without Rohit Sharma or KL Rahul?

After Team India skipper Rohit Singh tested positive for COVID-19, the fate of the rescheduled Fifth Test between India and England is in doubt. He is currently being treated for the virus at the team hotel, where he has been isolated. After the conclusion of play on Day 3 of the warm-up match between India and Leicestershire, the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) confirmed this news. After a Rapid Antigen Test, (RAT), conducted Saturday, Team India Captain Rohit Sharma was found to be positive for COVID-19. The Indian board stated on Twitter that he is currently being held in isolation at the team hotel. He is now under the care and supervision of the BCCI Medical Team."

The positive test by Rohit Sharma is not good news for India, particularly as they prepare for the fifth and decisive Test against England. The match will be played at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham, next week.

Roman Walker sent the veteran batter back to the pavilion after he scored 25 runs in India's first innings. Rohit Sharma was also seen marshaling troops on the next day, but he didn't make it out to bat on Saturday.

Rohit Sharma, who has scored 368 runs in four Test matches before this series, is the current leading scorer. He now faces a difficult task to make it through the final match.

Rohit Sharma may not make a full recovery in time for the Test at Birmingham. This would be a double blow to India considering that KL Rahul, his opener, will also miss the match with a groin injury.

The Indian team would be concerned about the possibility of spreading the deadly virus to their camp, and Rohit Sharma's recovery.

The postponement of the event was made last year due to fears of the Indian contingent spreading coronavirus. Ravi Shastri, the Indian head coach, and a member of his support staff had been tested positive for the virus. The players were hesitant to take to the field in such conditions. The BCCI and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), eventually decided to postpone.

Rohit Sharma was also subject to harsh criticism by Kapil Dev, the legendary Indian captain.

Saba Karim, a former India wicketkeeper, called for the Indian selectors, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to have candid discussions about their position in India's T20 lineup.

T20 World Cup 2022: Gautam Gambhir, a former Indian cricketer, stated that Dinesh Karthik was not eligible for a place in the Indian cricket team which will be competing in the major event in Australia.

Sunil Gavaskar, however, believes otherwise. He said that Dinesh KARTHI is the player Team India needs. Dinesh KARTHIK has performed well for Team India in recent times.

He has also scored runs at a rate of knots when required. He expressed an interest in playing the T20 World Cup this season.

He was a key player for Royal Challengers Bangalore, scoring crucial runs. He was recalled to Indian cricket for the Proteas T20Is after his stellar performances.

Dinesh Karathik achieved his personal best score in the T20Is. "I know that people are asking how you can include him in your team even though he isn't going to be playing.

"How can you tell he won't be able play? You could find the man you are looking for. Gavaskar, Star Sports's Star Sports analyst, said that you should look at the form rather than names or reputations and then choose the man.

Dinesh Karathik was a star player with a remarkable average of 55 runs and a striking rate of 183.33 in Royal Challengers Bangalore's fifteenth edition Indian Premier League.

Men in Blue will be relying on the upcoming ICC event to win a significant trophy. They haven't won a major one since 2013. They are looking forward to winning the title, ending the trophy drought.

October-November will be the marquee event. In the meantime, the Men in Blue will be playing as many T20Is as they can in preparation for the marquee event.

The Indian team management should also use this opportunity to test players who could be a valuable asset in the major event.
