Term 1, Week 10

Principal's Address

Term 1 is done and dusted and well done to all for having such a great start to the school year.

On Friday the 1st of April we held our National Ride to School Day and it was fantastic to see so many students riding their bikes to school. Once at school, students got to enjoy an obstacle course where they could practice their bike skills that was set up on the basketball courts by Miss Tayla Donohoe. Well done Tayla on creating and setting this up for our students.

Term 2, the first day back for students is Wednesday the 27th of April. Staff at Leinster will be back on Tuesday the 26th if anyone requires any assistance or has any questions regarding Term 2.

I would like to thank the Leinster Community for making me feel so welcome in my short time as the Acting Principal while Leanne has been on break. I wish you all the best and good luck to all staff, students for the rest of the year.

Rebecca Reves,

Acting Principal

First Day of Term 2

The first attending day of Term 2 is Wednesday 27th April as Monday 25th April is ANZAC Day public holiday and on Tuesday 26th April all staff are participating in Professional Development (PD). Thank you.

Sausage Sizzle a “ Zooper Dooper Success”

The High School students would like to extend a “Zooper Dooper” thank you to BHP, the community, teachers and students for the support they received during their first fund raising project of the year at the Spirit Swimming Carnival. Students learnt a lot about planning a project and the processes involved in handling funds. At the Spirit Carnival, the high school students raised $371.20.

Police visit the school!

On Thursday 31st March the school welcomed Officer Gerry Rafferty and Officer Neil Stimson from Leinster Police Department. During their time at the school, they attended to each classroom to deliver educational and informative speeches on the topic of bike and road safety, emphasising the importance of wearing a helmet when riding a bike or a scooter to and from school.

Ride2School Day 2022

On Friday 01st April all students from Pre Primary through to High School school participated in National Ride2School Day. In addition to walking, riding a bike or scootering to school that morning, an obstacle course was set out on the basketball courts for students to complete. The class that had the highest percentage of students participate in this event was Mr Reynolds Year 5/6 Class and their reward was an extra 10 minutes of playing time at recess.

High School Movie Night

To celebrate the end of term and to reward students for the hard work they have put in to their “online learning programs” through Schools of Isolated and Distance Education SIDE. The High School enjoyed a movie night. The movie was ok, the company great whilst the warm consideration students afforded each other during the evening was outstanding.

The food and singing was good too!

Year 5/6 ANZAC Assembly

This year’s 5/6 Assembly held on Thursday was aimed at commemorating Anzac Day. Due to COVID-19 Restrictions the class decided to host a digital Assembly. The video file size unfortunately is too large for any distribution platform so we'll look to disseminate and distribute in Term 2. Thank You From the Year 5/6 Class.

ANZAC display in the front office

Next time you visit the school's front office, take a moment to admire the wonderful ANZAC class artworks on display for Term 2. Each class has done a wonderful job and produced such different pieces whilst following the same briefing. Well done to all students!

Library Update

As you may know the school has moved to a new library system. Now that it is up and running there are some new processes being put in place.

Students attend the library to borrow each week with their class. During this time they are able to borrow, renew and return their books. Each student has a 2 book loan limit. Once the loan limit is exceeded they will not be able to borrow until they have returned at least one book.

If a book is overdue, you will receive a notice by email. If an item is lost or has already been returned, please inform the school by emailing This will prevent any borrowing problems for students.

Thank you for your patience as we navigate this new system.

An update from the P&C

The Easter raffle was an overwhelming success. We have raised over $1700 which will be donated to the school to purchase new books for the library.

Thank you to all our donors - BHP, ISS, RHT, parents and members of our community. We wouldn’t have accomplished this without you!

Congratulations to the students who won a prize!
