High cholesterol is when you develop fatty deposits in your blood vessels. After awhile it makes it difficult for blow to flow through your arteries. Your body needs cholesterol to buildhealthy cells, having too much can increase your risk of heart disease.

Cut back on saturated fats. Examples of this would be whole milk, full-fat dairy products, butter, red meats, and chocolate. Trans fats such as baked goods, snack foods, and processed foods you should try to avoid. Also avoid foods high in cholesterol such as liver and other organ meats, egg yolks, and full-fat dairy products.

Foods To Eat

Eat more fruits, vegetables, and whole grain products. Eat lean meats such a fish and chicken. Examples of healthier fats would be canola, olive, and peanut oils. Use those as substitutions and also try using herbs and spices to add flavor.

Long Term Effects of High Cholesterol

High Cholesterol can lead to major health problems such as heart attacks. It can also cause lack of blood flow to the brain due to clogged arteries it can cause strokes. You also will suffer from bad blood flow throughout the body.

Ways to Lower High Cholesterol

You can improve high cholesterol. If you stick to a strict diet, and exercise is always recommended. Stay away from fats. Add more fruits and vegetables into your diet as well as lean meats.
