Hello, From Mrs.B!
Classroom News!
Computer issues....
I am not sure if the students have filled you in or not, but I have manage to crack my laptop screen (yikes!!) So, I am only able to access my school sites like my grade book and school email while I am at school. So, let me apologize for not entering grades as quickly as I normal do. Rest assured they have ordered me a new screen and promise to install it as soon as they receive it!! Thank you for your patience.
FSA Writing Assessment.....Thurs. March 5
Our main focus this week is preparing for the FSA writing assessment. I am happy to say that I feel like our class is very prepared to take this test. The students have completed two DBQ projects this year and that directly correlates to this assessment. The students will be required to read multiple sources, find evidence within the documents to support their answers to a specific question, and write a well organized, thoughtful, multi-paragraph response. This is everything thing they already done during our DBQ.
What I need from you.....
ALL Next week: Make sure your child is well rested! Research shows you cannot catch up on sleep in 24 hours. Which means if your child has a late night on Tues. they will still be dealing with the effects of sleep deprivation on Thurs. AM when they need to focus.
Also, don't let your child get stressed out over this assessment. Confidence will improve performance long before fear of failure will.
Wednesday PM: Make sure they eat a big dinner and get plenty of sleep, give them a big hug, and tell them they will do great!
Thursday AM: Please, Please, Please feed them a big breakfast!! The worst thing is when you need to focus and your hungry!!
