Well...the 2015-2016 school year has come to a close. It has been an amazing year! I am so extremely proud of all the students and the progress they have made. I wish everyone a safe and happy summer. Love, Mrs. Hanna

SOUTHSIDE'S SUMMER READING CHALLENGE
Your student has received their 2016 Summer Reading BINGO card. Please encourage them to complete the BINGO squares throughout the summer. As they complete each square, they will put an “X” over the square and document the title and get initials from an adult verifying they completed the book. Once they complete 2 rows they will have qualified to attend the “Southside Summer Swim Bash” Thursday July 28th at the New Cabot Water Park (free of charge). If they complete a “Black Out” (complete all 25 squares) they will receive an additional prize! Please bring your BINGO card for your “free admittance” to the “Southside Summer Swim Bash”!

"SUMDOG" CHALLENGE
Over the past three years, Southside Elementary has been using the Sumdog website, which uses fun multiplayer games to encourage students to practice their mathematics. Each student has received a user name and password to login to the website.
Sumdog’s “Summer Mathematics Challenge” will be the Summer Math activity for students entering 2nd- 4th grade for the 2016-2017 school year. To complete the challenge, students must correctly answer 100 questions a day for a total of 20 days out of the entire summer for a total of 2000 correct questions.
The students will be monitored through Sumdog’s reporting component for the teachers. Students can login and play whichever days they want as long as they complete 20 days or 2000 problems.

- Correctly answer 2000 Math questions between May 26th – July 27th
**Every student who participates is awarded triple coins on their game. Also, students who meet the 2000 point challenge will be invited to the “Southside Summer Bash” at the “New” Cabot Aquatic Park on Thursday, July 28th at 7:00 p.m. Lifeguards will be on duty and the Concession Stand will be open for purchases.

The app gives parents, students, staff and patrons direct and immediate access to school news, notifications, student info, resources and much more!
All this information is available in one place and right at your fingertips. It’s also free and just a single download away.
The free official Cabot Public Schools app is available right now in the App Store for iPhones and on Google Play for Android users.
If you have an iPhone, to get started visit the App Store and search for Cabot Public Schools or Cabot School District. Once you find it, just click on it to download the app to your phone.
If you have an Android phone, you’ll go to Google Play, and again either search Cabot Public Schools or Cabot School District and download it to your phone.
Once it’s downloaded, you’ll want to explore all the features available. It’s a great place to stay connected.
