11 Days Left With Students
Make the Most of The Time You Have Left With Students
How will your students remember you? You all have poured your heart and soul into these kids for 169 days so far. You have worked hard at building relationships and making connections. Trust me, I know that our patience is worn thin this time of year. It's like a family vacation and you've traveled across the country and you are on the long car ride home and SO ready to get out of the car. Hang in there....you are almost home! Finish strong. Make those memories. Remember our goal is to always leave them crying on the last day because they will miss us so much as we wave goodbye.
Senior Walk
The Senior Walk, which was originally scheduled for May 14th, has been moved to May 22nd.
They will arrive at approx. 9:20 and we will get them set in the cafeteria, get you all out into the halls, and then queue the music. If we have any inside recess days between now and then, feel free to ask the kids to make signs for the graduating class of 2019. :-)
Once the seniors have completed their walk, they will exit through the cafeteria door #3. At that time, those who have third-period specials may transition to their classes.

PLC, Faculty and Grade-Level Meeting Dates for 2019-20
In an effort to better align professional development, allow teachers to meet more easily with staff in other buildings, and add the ability to utilize multi-building training opportunities, the administration team has recommended the following change to PD schedules for the 2019-2020 school year. These changes were discussed with DLTA at the monthly discussions meeting in April. We know many of you plan childcare, athletic/academic practices, and club meetings around our weekly professional development, so we wanted to give you as much forward notice as possible. We look forward to being able to combine our efforts in the corporation next year and be more intentional with our time.
The updated 2019-2020 Professional Development schedule is as follows:
End of Year
Make sure you keep your student data up to date in the "Class of" documents and South's Data Dashboard. We will be utilizing the Class of 2028 document to create student placement for fourth grade.
You do not need to take down any Bulletin Boards that you plan to use in the fall, they may stay up over the summer unless they are faded, ratty, etc. and need a face lift.
Flyin' High with RTI
Jaymee:
On Monday afternoon, the South Data Team will be joining the North Reading Data Team meeting to get the low-down on the incoming 3rd graders. We are looking forward to sharing lots of helpful info on these students!
Renee:
Unfortunately, we will not be returning to RTI Math Lab for the remainder of the year due to too many scheduling conflicts.
I'm in meetings all day, so we will NOT have 4th grade MFM groups or Zen Zone today. Sorry!
Life Hacks
- When you're stressed, try eating 1 cup of low-fat yogurt or 2 tablespoons of mixed nuts. The amino acids in them will help calm you down.
- Losing one night of sleep will impair reasoning and brain function for four days. Maintain a healthy sleep pattern.
- Laughing for fifteen minutes has the same health benefits as getting two extra hours of sleep. Take time to watch a comedy, hang with your funniest friends, or remember the funniest moments in your life.
