The Fundamental Five- Practice 3-Frequent, Small-Group, Purposeful Talk about Learning
Remember it is...
1. Teacher-Driven Discussion
2. Every 10-15 minutes at the completion of a major instructional concept.
3. Groups of 2-4
4. Pre-planned seed questions that will ensure the critical connections are made to the content.
An Example: "Now I want you to briefly discuss with your partner the differences between odd numbers and even numbers."
5. Teachers remain in the power zone throughout the group conversations. This allows teachers to be in the best position to make sure students stay on task, are participating, making correct connections, and clearing up misunderstanding.

Google tracking sheets
Please update your tracking sheet by 10/31 with common assessment scores, Lexia level, and Dreambox. For Dreambox, just delete the number there originally and put the new number of lessons completed. For Lexia, please leave the level they started on and add the level they are on now. For example; a student that started on level 2 and is now on level 4 would be 2/4. Please leave the Lexia level they started on all year on the tracking sheet.
Remember our focus this year is that every student makes progress. Every student. Students that are already high performing need to make progress. Struggling students need to make progress and everyone in between. We can't remain stagnant, remaining stagnant is the equivalent to moving backwards.
Happy Birthday!
