Celebrate Instructional Rounds
We are amidst the beginnings of practicing Rounds with our colleagues. What a beautiful learning opportunity - to work with each other, open our doors and minds to learning and improving our ever evolving practice. This work is challenging as we are vulnerable in our sharing and at the same time rewarding, as we strengthen what we do so well for our kids.
"The rounds process, then, is about creating and modeling a specific set of ideas about how schools and systems can learn from their own practices, develop a more acute understanding of the next problem they need to solve, and take control of their own learning in ways that are more likely to lead to sustained improvement over time."
Instructional Rounds in Education pg. 10
Guess what? Other schools are implementing Rounds, too! Find the video below - it's another school's experience with Rounds! Think about these as you watch:
What recommendations were made?
What observations were made?
How did rounds impact their growth as educators?
I look forward to our debriefing and all that comes with this experience. Thank you for making it impactful! Arrrrgh Mateys!
