FROM THE SCHOOL NURSE
As the end of the school year approaches, I'd like to remind parents, that ALL medication must be picked up by an adult by noon on May 25th. Per school policy, I am required to discard/destroy all remaining medication, whether nonprescription or prescription, which have not been picked up. The school cannot store any medication for the following school year. New medication forms must be filled out every school year. These forms can be obtained via the Pickerington Local School District website or can be requested from the clinic. Please call the clinic with any questions or concerns.

Pride of Pickerington (POPs) Award Winners
HERITAGE POPs WINNERS:
Certificated Staff Member: Blythe Wood
Classified Staff Member: Bryan Moore
Congratulations to this year’s Pride of Pickerington (POPs) building-level winners!
Fourteen educators and 15 support personnel have received the 2018 “Pride of Pickerington” (POP) employee-of-the-year awards for their individual buildings. These individuals were selected by their colleagues as representing the best of the best of our talented, dedicated staff.
The 29 winners will now be considered for the district-wide Pride of Pickerington employee of the year awards. Those two winners – one certificated, one classified – will be announced at the May 21 meeting of the Board of Education. All 29 building winners will be recognized at that meeting.
These building POPs winners were selected after a nomination process that included nominations by other staff members, voting within each building, and a review of the nominations by the building principals. Criteria included how well nominees represent the district in areas such as core values, work performance, dedication, collaboration, and the Pickerington Schools mission.
TechConnect
You are invited to join us on May 10th from 6:00-8:00 PM at Heritage Elementary School, as Pickerington Local Schools will host our first ever TechConnect event featuring students and teachers sharing how technology is being used to support learning in our schools. The event is for all age levels and will begin in the Heritage Gymnasium showcasing a technology playground allowing all attendees to play with and ask questions about various technologies being used by our students and teachers. Featured booths include how students are using Drones, Coding, Bloxels, Ozobots, Wevideo, Virtual Reality, Google Suite, Puzzlets, Digital Clue, student news crews and more.
Following the Technology Playground, we will move to the Auditorium to watch students and teachers present projects they have completed this year. Each student will use the stage to give a 5-minute presentation to present their project. Presentations will include students and teachers from all grades bands and feature projects including first graders using Ozobots robots, elementary students creating digital books, middle school students creating podcasts, junior high students designing digital portraits, high school students creating and annotating video and more.
Additionally, we are proud to announce that the Pickerington Police Department has accepted our invitation to present a session on Digital Safety in our community.
6:00 - 6:30 Technology Playground in the Heritage Gymnasium
6:30 - 7:00 TechConnect Student and Teacher Presentations
