Parents,
Our spring Concert is on MONDAY. Sloan Creek Orchestra will start the concert at 6:30 p.m. with Willow Springs Orchestra's immediately following. All Orchestra students must be at the high school by 5:30 p.m. in their formal uniforms to be tuned and warmed up.
Audition videos for next year are due no later than Friday, May 5 on google classroom. See below for more information.

Concert Details!
When: Monday, May 1
Where: Lovejoy HS Auditorium
What time: Warm-up time – 5:30 PM
6th grade – STAGE
Concert Orchestra – Orchestra room
Philharmonic and Chamber Orchestra – Band hall
CONCERT WILL BEGIN AT 6:30 PM
What to wear: Formal Wear (same as Fine Arts Festival, February concert, UIL)
What to Bring: Music, Instrument, Shoulder rest, Rockstop
Cellos and Basses – please bring your home instruments – make sure they are well in tune before the concert

Orchestra Booster Club Positions Available!
Dear Orchestra Parents,
The Orchestra Booster Club is an important resource for the Orchestra Directors and Students. We are in need of 4 volunteer positions for the board: President, Membership, Secretary, and Treasurer. Please consider donating your time and experience to the board - the Orchestra Booster Club can't continue without filling these positions. Detailed position tasks below. Please contact me if you have questions and are interested in being on the board.
Requirements forall 4 positions: Attend the 4 (August, October, January & April) Booster Club Meetings throughout the school year (evenings).
All positions have structures in place for an easy transition.
Treasurer Tasks: Tasks include creating and maintaining annual budget, coordinating authorized check signers and providing change for orchestra sales events. Also, bookkeeping duties such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, monthly reconciliation, financial records,financial reports, and quarterly and annual taxes.
Secretary Tasks: Record minutes for all meetings, send Treasurer and President the meetings for their records, communicate with Technology chair all meeting dates for posting on the website.
Membership Tasks: Organize forms for registration(online as well with Technology chair), collect registration information and record in excel, produce reports for CD's, T-shirts, DSO Concert, Decals, Yard Signs, VIP Seating, Committee members. Produce detailed student information for each school Directors. Create detailed deposits based on registration for Treasurer. The majority of the work for this position is in the Fall.
President: Supervise other board positions ensuring tasks are completed, preside at board meetings, execute any contracts(insurance), appoint committee members, and all other general duties.

Private Lessons
Private Lessons are highly encouraged for every student in orchestra. Private lessons are a one on one lesson with a professional musician.
We have a few teachers who come to LHS and teach privately during class. The lessons are $20 per half class lesson.
Their availability is limited so if you are interested please contact them ASAP.
