A grateful heart...
My heart is grateful for....
...Linda Sell who is always willing to move ARDs around and meet with kids during the day at odd times in order to best meet the needs, of teachers, parents and students. She also keeps a smile on her face!
....Maria, our terrific cafeteria manager. She's always smiling and patient through the lunch line, even when kids still forget their numbers!
....Adenda, our day custodian who helps students during lunch and is willing to do whatever is asked, even clean up vomit! This week she's even been staying an extra 4 hours each day to help because Cindy was out!
...Karly Evans, who has an extremely positive attitude and was also willing to meet frequently with parents who were concerned about their student. She has an extremely kind heart for her students.
...everyone who gave up some of their Saturday to support our PTA at the Fall Festival. I know all of you committed to activities that are a big part of the Silent Auction and I appreciate that as well. Our PTA is supportive and generous and so functional....there are many PTAs who are divisive, so I appreciate our group enormously and appreciate your support of them in turn.
Visitors on Friday
They were very complimentary about the goal setting that was happening, the cupcake analogy that ASPIRE uses, and the pairing between K and 1.
We told them about GTU and the ownership that you all have taken in presenting to each other so that we can all get better. They had talked with Bryan about Skyping with the class in Illinois and so we told them about SAMR and how you all were working on moving up the scale to help our students understand the global nature of our world. Their ISD had changed from a K-2 and a 3-5 school to two K-5 schools and students were still missing their old friends, so one of them talked about how they could use technology to connect the students from their two schools.
Thank you again for being so willing to welcome visitors. They were very complimentary, and very impressed at how willing everyone was to share with them.
You made me very proud! I wish each of you could have heard all of the nice things they said.

ADHD videos
This is advice to parents about how to deal with ADHD children, but again some definite implications for us as teachers. You can skip the first 1:30 minutes of the video, which will make it about 6-7 minutes long. We're close to the end of the 30 essential ideas.
