September 25, 2020
Hello Stetson Families,
Happy Friday! I hope you are all doing well, safe and healthy this week. I honestly cannot believe that this week was our fourth week of school already and we are approaching the end of September.
We want to make sure that everyone is aware that the students must attend their scheduled four block classes each day or the student will be marked absent. Currently our school day runs from 8:45 am - 3:30 pm with breaks in the day. Please check our school website for information on which day (days 1- 6; am/pm day) schedule to follow. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us in the main office and we will help guide you through the schedule. Our cyber students have an attendance quiz to fill out each school day by 10:45 am on Schoology.
We will be hosting a virtual Open House this school year. It will take place on October 1st at 7:00 pm. Please mark down the date in your calendars. This will be an opportunity for parents to hear from your child's teachers in middle school. There will be links on the Stetson website for you that evening. One link will be a welcome message from the principal explaining how the night will run virtually. Please know your child's teachers and course names before this night. I will then direct you to another link which will give you access to our teacher videos. Hope you can join me next Thursday night!
Hope you all have a fantastic three day weekend. Enjoy the last weekend in September!

Message about Attendance--Cyber & Remote Learners
When a student misses class due to a doctor appointment, please email the teacher whose class they will miss and Mrs. Sadik (email@example.com) in the Attendance Office. Please ask the doctor for a note and email/scan a copy of the note to Mrs. Sadik so the missed time can be entered as excused.
Reminder that students are to attend all FOUR classes each day. If they miss 2 out of the 4 classes, they are officially marked absent for the day.
If you child is going to be absent for the entire day, we need a picture of a written note with your signature in order for the absence to be excused. Any email without a signature will no longer be acceptable for an excused absence.

Many of you have probably heard of the amazing Girls on the Run program from your elementary school days. Did you know there is a similar program for middle school girls called Heart & Sole? These programs are even more important and beneficial to participants during these times of social distancing. Stetson Middle School is trying to form a virtual Heart & Sole team and any girl in grades 6-8 is invited to participate - they can even attend a DIFFERENT middle school since this is all virtual. Please see the informational flyer on our school website to find out more or visit gotrpa.org. We are listed as the Chester County Community Heart & Soul team - Mon/Wed 4-5pm.
All students are required to attend this class. Attendance will be taken each class period. I hope you have gotten a chance to look at the planning sheet (has current grades on it). It was sent to you by your child and is updated weekly. If you have not, please have a discussion with your child at home and reach out to grade level administrator if you have any additional questions.
