Classroom 5 Updates
This month flew by with many fun crafts, lessons and new friends! A handful of our new friends are learning about our classroom routine, transitions, and working with friends. Many of the children love that we are still learning about transportation-- especially cars and helicopters. We have also learned the different ways to travel between water, land and air.

Next month, we will talk about camping and the forest. We will also incorporate our monthly color purple and shape heart in our crafts, lessons and songs. On Friday, February 26, we will wear purple to celebrate our monthly color.
We will have a Valentine's Day celebration at 9:00 on Friday, February 12. Our celebration will include a special snack, craft and exchanging Valentine's Day cards. If you would like your child to participate-- we have 9 children in the class. Please write only your child's name on them. Also, the school asks that edible Valentine's do not get sent. As always, parents are welcome to join in on our celebration!

Things you can do at home:
-Experiment with ice cubes in the bathtub-- talk about hot versus cold and how the ice cubes melt
-Take a walk through your neighborhood-- talk about what you can see, hear and smell
-Have dinner conversations-- ask your child what their day looks like!

Songs for January:
A Chubby Little Snowman
A chubby little snowman had a carrot nose.
Along came a bunny, and what do you suppose?
That hungry little bunny looking for his lunch.
Ate that snowman's carrot nose, nibble nibble crunch!
I'm a Little Snowflake
I’m a little snowflake icy and round
I fall from the sky and I don’t make a sound
When it’s cold I’ll stay all day
When it’s warm I’ll melt away.
