Mrs. Kennedy's Friday Letter
April 8, 2016
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. - Psalm 34:8
Thursday the 14th is our MTSU Spring Fling Fieldtrip! Please remember to send in the 2 forms for this trip. Parents, please let me know if you plan on joining us.
Picture orders are due on Wednesday, the 13th.
I need bamboo sticks for our upcoming Spring Revue!!! Our class will be dressing up like fishermen (and women). Mrs. DeHoff said kind of like Huck Finn. So, I am thinking straw hats, jeans or jean overalls, and a fishing pole made out of bamboo. Please let me know if you know of someone that may have bamboo plants on their land.
A peek into our week
We are really on our way to 3rd grade. I was very proud of their hard work, independence, and determination this week! They are certainly getting ready to leave this nest - sniff, sniff!
Reading - Lots of independent reading in AR books and Partner reading in our SUPER magazine. It is always full of such interesting non fiction articles. We became experts on camels while reading one day this week.
Writing - We continue to enjoy writing in a variety of ways. This week we focused on making cards and writing lists- including a list of ways we can show kindness.
Bible - Paul and responsibility. I love, love, love our Family Bible Talks - hearts like Jesus!
Science - We have begun our Life Science unit and have had fun dissecting a seed and learning about the parts of a plant. Our carnations and water color experiment didn't work the first time so we went back to the drawing board and are trying it again. That's Science (and Life) isn't it?
