Mascot Design Challenge
Attention CSANT students, families, and alumni:
CSA New Tech is getting a mascot! Student Voice members proposed the concept to the student body. We are happy to announce that we had 258 responses and 93% of students are in favor of getting a mascot! We are also very excited to say that 80.6% of respondents want to become the CSA New Tech Dragons!
With this awesome news, we are ready to move on to designing and implementing our brand new mascot into the school! We know that we have many very talented artists in this building and we want all of you to be a part of this process.
Are you creative or artistic? Do you want to make history at CSA? If the answer is yes, you are invited to join CSA’s Mascot Design Contest! As you already know, we want to launch our brand new mascot, the CSA Dragons, but in order to do so, we need a fantastic design! We need your help to create our personalized dragon mascot image! If you are interested, please create a design using any medium you’re comfortable with and send a picture or digital file of your image to Mr. Reed’s email: (reedm@bcsc.k12.in.us). We will carefully examine each design and create our personal mascot image from your creations.
Criteria:
- Must include a dragon
- Must use dark red and black as main colors
- Must have S-shaped head, facing to the right (see example 1)
- Must be include headshot (see example 1) and full body image (see example 2)
Bartholomew County Broadband Initiative
TO ALL BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY RESIDENTS...here is a critical survey regarding broadband service throughout our county. It is very important that we get as big a response as humanly possible on this, if we are to solve this problem. Please take this survey(one per household. Bartholomew County residents only) and please share this survey far and wide. Thank You!!

CSA's 13th Annual Talent Show
Submit a 3-4 minute video by December 17th at 3 pm for consideration. Normally, we would hold live auditions, but instead, we will have a panel of students and facilitators choose the acts to be included in the show.
Submissions must:
Be school appropriate
Be recorded between now and the deadline-- no old video footage will be considered
Showcase some kind of talent --- does not need to be a conventional talent. Stupid human tricks are welcome!
Include CSA students only
Be reasonable sound and video quality (steady camera and clear audio)
For a vocal musical performance, any accompanying recording should be Karaoke-style only-- backup instruments are fine, but no singing over an existing vocal track.

Updates from School Nurse Mrs. Travis
Thank you all for continuing to call into the school and keep us informed if you or someone you have been close to are experiencing Covid19 symptoms. The schools are still tracking this information during E-learning. Even if you are not physically coming into the school for any reason, please continue to keep us informed. We are here to answer questions and help you understand when and how long to quarantine. If you are attending a class in person or coming into the school for services, please continue to screen yourself daily before coming in. If you are experiencing any Covid19 symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who is, please stay home and call the school so we can discuss next steps. Keep up with the basics of wearing your masks, frequent handwashing, and socially distancing from others. I know we have been doing this for quite a while but it is still important.
Are you up to date on your Immunizations? Seniors you will need to make sure you are up to date for college. You can call the school and ask to speak to me if you are unsure.
With all that is going on in our world, things can feel overwhelming sometimes. Managing our stress is one way we can help to keep our immune systems stronger. Check out this link to learn how to practice managing stress.

Signature Shout Outs
Wanted: "Why CSA?" Video Testimonials
Each year, we spend the months of December and January working to recruit a group of 8th-grade students to apply and join the CSA New Tech Family. One of the biggest assets we have in recruiting students is testimonials from our current students and families!
We are asking for CSA students, alumni, and parents to record video testimonials explaining why they chose CSA or why CSA would be a great fit for other students! Here are the video requirements:
1) The video should be approximately 30 seconds long.
2) The video should emphasize and elaborate on one reason why CSA is a great school.
3) The video should be school appropriate (including your background and clothing).
4) The video should include your relationship to the school (student, parent, grade, etc.)
Please submit your videos to the link below:
CSA Interact Club Winter Supplies Drive
CSA New Tech Interact Club is holding a Hat/Glove/Sock and Toiletry Drive to support Turning Point and Brighter Days.
We are collecting new socks and new and gently used hats and gloves, as well as large and travel size toiletries.
There is a blue collection box outside of the C-WIng Doors marked for donation drop off.
In addition, Turning Point has a "Christmas Shop" - a table in which clients can shop from for Christmas Presents. If you have any items around your house that are new, that you do not think you will use, please consider donating those as well.
