Random Acts of Kindness
Random Acts of Kindness Week was celebrated February 14th-18th. Daily announcements were made to promote kindness in the event called "Cash for Kindness". We also spread kindness by donating to charities. Containers were set up in the cafeteria that week where students could donate money or PBIS tickets to vote on different activities they wanted staff to do during a virtual assembly. One PBIS ticket was equivalent to $1. The money collected will be donated to local charities.

February First Friday- GOAL Setting!
6th grade: 6th grade students will create a virtual vision board. A Vision Board is a collage of images and words that should remind students WHY they do what they do every day, as well as to help them achieve their future goals. Students should fill their vision boards with images and words that spark their motivation and remind them of their values, goals, or dreams. It could also be filled with things that inspire them or leave them feeling happy.
7th grade: The 7th grade lesson focuses on the importance of setting goals (academic, behavioral, personal, or career) for future success. It addresses how having a positive mindset may help to overcome any obstacles that may occur. The lesson also introduces the S.M.A.R.T. goal acronym and their assignment will be setting one goal to count as their monthly artifact using the goal setting worksheet.
8th Grade: The 8th grade lesson also focuses on the importance of setting goals for future success. 8th graders will be choosing a word goal such as balance, kindness, or responsibility to help them focus on areas in their lives they want to make changes. Students will then create a S.M.A.R.T goal using their word.
