Principal's Report
It's been another busy week here at BPS. It is crazy how fast this term is going. Only 5 and a half weeks left of the school year!
This week our senior classes have had their first week of swimming. Thank you to all our wonderful parents who have been able to help with swimming. This is a crazy busy time of year for everyone, so we really appreciate your help. The seniors have another week of swimming next week, and then the juniors go swimming the following week.
Thanks to the generosity of our Whānau and School, we have once again been able to provide professional swim instructors to help with the swimming lessons. This will ensure our students make solid progress during our swimming block.
On Sunday, we have our BPS House and Garden tour. This has been a huge organisational feat for the Whānau and School and the House and Garden Committee. Ngā mihi ki a koutou for all your work towards this. The team could still do with some more help from our school community on Sunday. If you have a couple of hours free and would like to help, please contact the school. This is a great opportunity to get to know some more of our school community and help with this wonderful fundraising venture.
Ngā mihi,
Vicki
Structured Literacy Information Evening
The staff and students are looking forward to presenting a short information evening on our structured literacy programme. Every class throughout our school is involved and we would like to take this opportunity to show our parents and caregivers what this learning looks like.
Date: Monday 7th November
Time: 5:30pm - 6:15pm
Where: School Staffroom - for an introduction and then into classrooms for demonstrations from teachers and pupils.
There will be an opportunity to see our learning in action at your child’s/children’s level. We will run the same class session twice so parents can see more than one level. There will be an opportunity to ask questions, Mrs Diane Grant (South West Otago Resource Teacher: Literacy) will also be present to answer questions.
You are welcome to bring your children with you so they can demonstrate this new learning, but their attendance is not compulsory.
Thank you
BPS staff
