Our Empowered Bobcats!! Way to Go!
We always love to see our Bobcats hard at work!
No personal information will be used.
And So The Adventure Begins...
Our Burchett teachers want to commend you for the awesome job done on the first week of our Empowered Learning at Home 2.0 PBL!
· Scholars were in Google Hangouts discussing their work.
· We received pictures of scholars engaged in lessons and activities.
· Parents were working with their children and teachers.
We are super proud of all of our families (students and parents)!
This week, let's keep the momentum going with week two of our PBL. Our staff at Burchett is working to support everyone. Here are a few ways we can help.
· Contact your teacher if you need help with scholar logins. It is much faster than calling the help desk.
· Be sure to communicate with your teacher at least once a week. It can be a phone call, email, or Google Hangouts. We want to support with instruction.
· Teachers can help you navigate the Schoology app on your device to upload student work.
· When in doubt, please ask. We are here for you.
Don't forget to keep up with the daily happenings at Burchett. Our Twitter handle is @Burchett_ES.

Spring ISD Schools remain closed for the rest of this year in alignment with Governor Abbott's Order
Spring ISD Free Meal Distribution on Mondays and Wednesdays
Free meal pick up will continue on Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the following sites. Bailey, Booker, Clark Primary, Claughton, McNabb, Reynolds and Westfield. Evening pick up will be available at Bailey, Claughton and Westfield from 4 to 6 p.m.
Instructional packets will be available for elementary students on Wednesday during the meal distribution time.
Please be reminded: Spring ISD employees will only place bagged meals in the trunks or hatches of vehicles to maximize social distancing and ensure the health and safety of all employees and families. No meals will be distributed through vehicle windows, and we ask that drivers go through the line, keep their windows closed and simply pop their trunk or hatch.
Employees will visually look into the closed vehicles to determine the number of children present to receive meals. On Mondays, students will receive meals for Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, students will receive meals for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Remember, federal regulations mandate that children 18 or under must be present in the vehicle to receive meals.

Social Distancing Should Not Mean Social Isolation
Young children need to have quality time with their caregivers and other important people in their lives. Social connectedness improves children’s chances of showing the ability to cope with difficulties and overcome obstacles regardless of the situation.
Here are some creative approaches to staying connected during this time of self-distancing:
● Using online video chats with friends, and family members outside the immediate home
● Writing letters to friends and family members
● Playing online video games with friends
● Playing board/ and card games
● Cooking and baking together
● Write a thank you letter to your postman and leave in your mailbox for them
