A Message from the School Counselors!

Wernli Families,

Happy Fall! It has been so rewarding to see students back in the classroom and enjoying school. Students have been busy connecting with their teachers and peers, learning new content, and setting new goals. We are so proud of all our Wildcats!

We have been busy going into the classrooms for our guidance lessons. It truly is the best part of our day. We enjoy connecting with students and helping them in all four content areas. Please speak to your child about what they have been learning during guidance time. Thank you for your continued support!

What's Happening In Guidance?

October is a busy month and we are starting off the month talking to students about RESPECT. NISD will hold its annual Respect Signing Day on Friday, October 8th, 2021. On this special day, students and staff across the district pledge to demonstrate respect for themselves and others.

We are committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all our students. We are going into all the classrooms and teaching the many different ways that someone can show respect to themselves, others, and the community!

Additionally, October 25th-29th is Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week is the nation's largest drug prevention awareness program. We teach students the importance and value of making healthy choices. We have a spirit week planned out for all our students and staff.

Each night in the United States, an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets. This October, we want to show that even a small act of love, such as donating a pair of new socks and a package of new underwear, can make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless. Please donate any size of new socks or underwear (still packaged) at our drop box in the foyer during the month of October. We will be taking these donations to NISD Threads.
