Rotters
I loved this audio version of the book written by Daniel Kraus. It is amazing, creepy (it's about modern day grave robbers), and not for the faint of heart. This title is paired with Mary Shelly's Frankenstein. The narrator did an outstanding job; this book won the Odyssey audio book award last year
Once
I'm looking forward to this one. Morris Gleitzman's novel is set in Nazi occupied Poland, a young boy decides to leave the orphanage where he is hidden to search for his parents. The stakes are high because he and his family are Jewish. It is paired with Letters From a Birmingham Jail by Martin Luther King, Jr.
Carter Finally Gets It
This book by Brent Crawford is hilarious and has an outstanding narrator. Full disclosure: this book is probably not for everyone, there is language and the narrator is a teen boy. Carter's freshman year is full of missteps. He finds his way, even though things don't go quite as planned.
