Remote Learning Days on January 4th-8th
Spotlight On - 1st Grade!
First grade has been enjoying having students back in the classroom! Our students are learning so much from our four wonderful student teachers from UNCW. We are lucky to have Laney Summerlin in Ms. Carney’s class, Rebeckah Shaw in Mrs. Highsmith’s class, Cameron Rogers in Ms. Hayes’ class, and Charmaine Ortiz in Mrs. Johnson’s class. They have been working hard with their partnership teacher and first grade team to provide engaging and meaningful instruction to our students. Our current learning focuses are elements of poetry, writing personal narratives and addition and subtraction fluency within 10. We are going to miss our interns when they graduate at the end of November, but are proud of their accomplishments and wish them well!
What's Happening in PE
In Physical Education we have been working on variations of fleeing/dodging skills with different games and activities. We have also had students working in teams to learn how to work better with their classmates and use cooperative skills to help their teams be successful. The biggest thing in physical education is always staying active, and making our bodies stronger and healthier at the same time as having FUN!
