What is the TSIA?
The TSI is also known as Accuplacer throughout the rest of the US. This is a test that is required for all colleges and universities to determine college readiness. The test is Reading, Writing and Math. You must pass reading and writing to be eligible to take English I in college and you must pass both Reading/Writing and math to take College Algebra in college. If you do not pass the test you will be required to take remedial courses before you can take either English I or College Algebra.

Northside charges $14 for students to take the TSI. You must complete your application and modules and pay the $14 through myschoolbucks.com to be eligible to take the TSIA.

TSIA Waiver
If you are in dual credit and have already received credit for English 3 you are college ready and do not need to take the TSIA or English I or II.
If you received credit for Pre-Calculus you are college ready and do not need to take the TSIA or College Algebra.
If you passed the English AP exam with a 3 or above, you are college ready and do not have to take English I.
If you passed the Calculus AP exam with a 3 or above, you are college ready.
If your scores are high enough on the SAT, you can waive the TSIA.
TSIA for Dual Credit
You must pass the TSIA reading and writing to be eligible for English, History and electives Dual Credit classes.
You must pass the TSIA reading/writing and math to be eligible for Math and Science Dual Credit classes.
SAT
Many colleges are now test optional for SAT/ACT tests, check each college for their requirements. You can check test dates, register and send scores from the SAT sites. When you log into your SAT/Collegeboard account, you will select Send Scores then add the names of the colleges. Each score report sent will cost a fee you can pay online
