Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,
Today, students and staff from each of the three RSD6 elementary schools met at James Morris School for our much-anticipated Inauguration Celebration.
As the opening ceremony began, students were able to watch a live video feed of our three 6th-grade class presidents, Abby, Anthony and Drew as they arrived (with a police escort from Trooper Hawley) in a limousine, flanked by "Secret Service agents", Tracy Keilty, Erica Matthews, John Threlfall and Tom Weik.
The presidents were escorted to the cafeteria by student Secret Service, and sworn into office by "Chief Justice" Barbara Connery, who led them in the Presidential Oath. Then, each president shared his or her vision for the future through their own well-written and beautifully-articulated speeches. The opening ceremony concluded with a wonderful solo rendition of the National Anthem by JMS fourth-grader, Lilah.
Grouped by grade, the students then participated in break-out sessions, including ballroom dancing, in which they worked with their friends from across the district. The gathering concluded with a patriotic whole-group singalong and presentation of student-created art pieces to the three schools.
Thank you, Principal KC Chapman, the JMS faculty and staff, parents, community members, and students who made this event so spectacular.
Warm regards,
Angela Rossbach, Ed.D.
Warren School Principal
Celebration of the Arts
The Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) sponsors an annual Celebration of the Arts. Each year, two students from each elementary school are recognized for for their outstanding citizenship, cooperative skills, and artistic ability in performing or visual arts. I am pleased to announce that Madelyn Krasowski and Diana Squires have been selected to represent Warren School this year.
Madelyn participates in the elementary concert band. She is a motivated clarinetist and brings a sense of poise to the band program. In addition, Madelyn is an innovative thinker in the visual arts.
Diana participates in both the elementary concert band and the inter-elementary select choir. This year, Diana has also auditioned for the annual Middle School Northern Regional Music Festival. She not only demonstrates strong music skills, but flourishes in the visual arts as well.
Both students and their families will be invited to attend the CAS Elementary Arts Banquet on February 6th. They will be joined by the award recipients from Goshen Center School and James Morris School, as well as Mrs. Bills, Ms. Cook, Mrs. Sweet, and Mrs. Birdsall.
Warren School Pajama Day!
On January 20, join Senior Blended for a school wide pajama day in honor of HuskyTHON benefitting Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
HuskyTHON is an 18 hour dance marathon, hosted at the University of Connecticut. This year it will be held on February 19th-20th, and we are hoping to surpass last year's fundraising total of $716,000! All funds raised for this event get directly donated to the wonderful children and families at Connecticut Children’s.
On pajama day, make sure you bring your big smiles and any donation that you choose to help fund! We will be having pajama day so we can have empathy to know how it feels for the kids in the hospitals that are stuck all day in their pajamas.

Seeds of Dreams Seed CO
Created by the Warren School Fifth and Sixth Grade 2016
The mission of Seeds of Dreams Seed CO is to provide organic, raw, nutritional Harvest of Dreams sunflower seeds and reach out to help others in need. Through the purchase of the seed packets, our plan is to continue our support to local soup kitchens and food banks and to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) through donations raised.
This project was started and coordinated by 6th graders. All K-6 students are helping to weigh seeds and make packets.
We hope you'll support this project by purchasing seeds using this order form.
