Thoughts from Dr. Pacatte
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee is off to a great start and had their first meeting last night. It was so wonderful to hear the perspectives of staff, parents, and students. One of the first suggestions was for the district to create a page on our website devoted to highlighting the work being done to support equity and inclusion at D56. As a district, we are going to seek additional ways to share and promote the work we are doing so this information is accessible to as many people as possible.
The diversity of our district is what brings many to locate their families within our boundaries. This work will be the driver and guidepost for us; helping us to tap more deeply into our potential while building stronger levels of respect and belonging amongst our entire community. Stay tuned for more updates and the release of the webpage noted above.
