Candy Collection

Sprague School is conducting its annual candy drive following Halloween. Please bring in unopened candy to the front office between Monday, Nov. 1 through Friday, Nov. 5. Candy will benefit those in need.

Reminders:

Book Fair: The deadline to order books from the PTO Book Fair is Monday, Nov. 1. Check your child's SeeSaw account to view book selections. Check with your child's teacher if you don't know the SeeSaw account.


Art Contest: Does your child love creating art? Enter that beautiful masterpiece in an online Fall Art Contest.


Teacher Nominees: Students are invited to nominate a teacher who they feel makes a difference at their school or in their community. Parents may assist their children in Chicago's Very Own WGN9 nomination process.


Masks & Water Bottles: Make sure your student has plenty of child-sized masks for school as well as a refillable water bottle.

Vaccine Clinic for ages 5-11

Save the following date for a vaccine clinic for ages 5-11.


FDA approval of the Pfizer vaccine for emergency use for ages 5-11 is anticipated next week. With this news, the district will hold a vaccine clinic at Laura B. Sprague School on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. If approval does not occur before Nov. 13, we will reschedule the clinic to a later date. Registration for the event will be sent closer to the vaccination date.

Board of Education Meeting

The next Board of Education meeting will occur at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2. The notice and agenda can be found on the District 103 Board meeting website page. D103 board meetings will be held in-person and live-streamed to our YouTube Channel each month starting Nov. 2. Members of the community should attend the meeting at 111 Barclay Boulevard, Lincolnshire if they would like to make a public comment. The public can contact the Board at board@d103.org.

Let’s Talk LGBTQ+

The virtual webinar on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. will teach parents the common language used to describe sexual and gender identities (including pronouns) and provide strategies for caregivers to engage their children in these important topics. The goals of this presentation are to help all parents understand the benefits of allyship, whether their child identifies as LGBTQ+ or not. Registration is open for the presentation.

Looking for a great weekend activity for the whole family? Come see several of our very own Daniel Wright actors in the upcoming community theater Production of Matilda. The show will be running the weekends of Nov. 5 and Nov. 12. Tickets are on sale now.

Live Theater is Back

Deerfield Family Theater presents School House Rock Live beginning Friday, Nov. 12.

Special Recreation Association Programming

The Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County provides community-based recreation to children and adults with disabilities. Check out our website to view SRACLC's year-round programs including camps, after school care, sports, arts, and community outing.
