CYCLE DAYS
BUILDING GOALS: SPEAKER SERIES SURVEY
The Principal's Advisory Committee is comprised of ten EV parent leaders. The purpose of the Principal's Advisory Committee (PAC) is to review data, offer suggestions, make decisions, and communicate the topics discussed during our meetings. The PAC focuses on the building goals, specifically goals related to student growth and achievement, safe and caring environment, and climate and culture.
As a way to engage more parents/guardians in the work we do related to the EV building goals, we'd like your input. Some of you may have completed this survey during parent-teacher conferences. If you did not, we ask that you complete the survey between now and December 14. We look forward to hearing from you.
WAYS TO HELP DURING THE HOLIDAYS AT EV
Reminder: The holiday season is upon us! The holiday giving tree is located in the EV lobby outside of the main office and still has a number of tags left on it! The tags specify items for purchase for one of our very own East Vincent students or their family members. This is an anonymous way in which to help those less fortunate in order to provide their loved ones with some needed or wished for items during the holiday season. If you are willing and able to participate, please return wrapped gifts, with the tag attached, to EV by December 16th.
Thank you for supporting our East Vincent Giving Tree and in turn, our own EV community! Happy Holidays!
K Kids has been collecting new toys (please no gift wrap) to donate to Project Outreach. Project Outreach is a local organization that supports families with a food pantry, transportation, furniture, rental and utility assistance as well as providing gifts to children. Toys will be accepted until Wednesday, December 11th. Please help us make the season brighter for local families. If you have any questions, please contact Mary Hoff at mhoff@ojrsd.net or Jen Marshall at 610-469-5733.
Thank you for supporting our East Vincent community during the holiday season!
SAFETY AT EV
Yesterday, students and staff participated in a fire drill. The building was evacuated in quick time in an orderly, calm fashion. The message to students was to remain calm, walk with a purpose, and follow adult directions.
One of the exercises we do during drills is to simulate what could happen in the event of a real emergency. For the fire drills this year, we've kept some students and staff in the building to ensure our accountability procedures are efficient and safe. The good news is that all students and staff have been accounted for during all drills.
Many thanks to East Vincent Police Department and OJRSD Safety and Security Department for being on-site for our fire drill.
Students and staff evacuate the building to a rally point.

Our brave staff and students who helped us check our accountability measures during the fire drill.
RECESS UPDATE
Due to safety issues and concerns, footballs will no longer be permitted on the playground/blacktop. This includes using a football to play football, flicker, and more. A football will be stored in the main office in a bag so that when a volunteer arrives, they will be given the football and walkie before heading outside. Footballs will only be used on the field.
As a reminder, students have access to playground equipment at school. No outside equipment may be brought to use.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT
PARAPROFESSIONAL, MRS. VALLINO
Hi. My name is Missy Vallino and I have lived in the OJR school district with my family for the last 20 years. Four of my five children (yes, five!) have attended East Vincent and my oldest two have graduated from OJR High School, with another graduating this year. Time flies too fast! Now that my children are growing older, I decided to return to work doing something I love, and as I move ahead into this next chapter, I am so excited for the opportunity to continue being a part of the East Vincent community and look forward to meeting many new faces!
Some fun facts about me: I have a crazy Labrador named Mia, and three cats, a Siamese-Snowshoe named Sushi, and two rescues named Poppy and Rosie. I grew up in southwestern New York, am the oldest of three and wanted to be an art therapist when I was in high school. I used to be an avid runner and have run everything from a 5k to a Spartan Race to a marathon. In my free time I love to be with my family and watch my younger children race in rowing and swimming events.
PARAPROFESSIONAL, MRS. JOHENNING
My name is Holli Johenning and I started working in EV in October. I have been working with children for 17 years, most recently I worked in Life Skills in the Boyertown School District. I enjoy working with children and I’m always up for a new challenge!
I’m married and I have 3 step children and 6 grandchildren. My husband, Paul, and I have been together for 28 years and we just celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in Savannah GA this past September. We love to travel and we’re currently checking off places on our bucket list. Next year, for my 50th birthday, we’re going to the Grand Canyon in April with my mom, our son & his family and we’re taking a cruise to Greece in October with some of our friends. I also love going to the gym, visiting historic places, kayaking and trying new things.
I looking forward to getting to know everyone here at East Vincent!
EV STUDENTS ATTEND FRIENDS OF THE ARTS TREE FESTIVAL
The annual Friends of the Arts Tree Festival took place today at the George S. Christman and Coventryville United Methodist Church. EV families and staff enjoyed crafts, tasty treats, and chances to win baskets and trees adorned with themed-goodies.
