Greetings!

We have had so many wonderful events, activities, and opportunities for learning taking place at school and in our community. These next two weeks before Spring Break are no exception. With that in mind, I encourage you to carefully review the information below. I look forward to seeing you around the neighborhood.

Dress Alike Day

Shamrock Shuffle March 8th

Join us for the Shamrock Shuffle!


When: Friday, March 8th

Where: Riverside Elementary Gymnasium

Time: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This family dance is sponsored by our PTO. All students must be accompanied by an adult. There is no charge for admission but we will be collecting canned food items to donate needy families.

YoYo Assembly

On March 11th, our students will have the opportunity to see the “Cool in School” assembly put on by the Around the World YoYo Entertainment group. Following the assembly yoyos will be available for purchase during the lunch period. Please see the hard copy of order form in your child’s folder coming home this week or click here. We need a few parent volunteers to help with sales - please sign up here if you can cover one of the shifts during the week of March 11th-15th. Riverside gets 10% of all proceeds.

Coffee with the Community

Come enjoy coffee with the community! Dutch Bro's will be available for purchase and kids can enjoy hot chocolate for $2.00. 1st grade gets FREE hot chocolate.

Treasure Valley Math and Science Center

If you are interested in learning more about the Treasure Valley Math and Science Center and the program that they offer, there are two parent orientation nights offered. Orientation nights provide an overview of he program and offer a Q & A session at the end. The program and overview is offered at Riverglen Junior High - Thursday April 4th, 7:00-8:30.

BSD Everything is Possible Campaign

Girls on the Run!

Girls on the run serves to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. Trained coaches lead 3rd-5th grade girls through interactive lessons and running activities.


Starting Date: Week of February 25th

Practice Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays after school

Commitment: 10 week program, ends with noncompetitive 5k event

Friend of Boise Public Library (FOBPL)

Friends of the Boise Public Library (FOBPL) is a 50l(c)(3) organization. FOBPL’s mission is to raise funds for the Boise City Public Library and its programs. FOBPL raises funds through the sale of donated books and other materials. FOBPL is seeking an individual to serve on the Board of Directors. See details for more information.
