A Newsletter for our Riverside Community

A November note from Principal Anderson

Riverside Families and Friends,

As we move into our second quarter of the school year, I want to express my gratitude to our entire Riverside School Community for pulling together to serve the needs of our students. As we completed our parent teacher conferences 10 days ago, I was so impressed with the teamwork I observed between staff and our families. The statement "It takes a village" could not be more true than it is right now. Together, we are making the best of difficult circumstances to love and teach our students and I am proud to be part of our Riverside team.

Enrollment Changes and Second Semester Planning

Now that the first quarter of 2020 - 2021 and parent-teacher conferences have concluded, it is time to look forward. To support a smoother transition for class and teacher assignments, we have already begun planning for the start of 2nd semester.

If your student is staying in their current school, no action is required.

To ensure as seamless a transition as possible, the district has set a deadline of November 6, 2020 for families to indicate if they plan to move from Boise Online School to Riverside or from Riverside to Boise Online School for the second semester. To ensure a stable educational environment for both students and teachers, students will remain enrolled in either Boise Online School or their neighborhood school for the full semester.

Please notify us by email at by Friday, November 6, 2020 if you are requesting a change of placement for Second Semester (January 11, 2021- May 27, 2021).

School Picture Re-takes

Did you miss our Picture Day or just didn't care much for the fake smile your child had on? Here's your chance for a do-over. Mark your calendars for Nov.17-18th from 11:00am-1:00pm only! Retakes will be done on your child's corresponding in-person day. For BOS families, no appointment necessary, just drop by the front office either day during the designated times.

All ordering will be done online. Check out more information on ordering pictures right here.

Dress for the Weather!

Outside play at recess is more important than ever and students are happier and healthier if they are dressed appropriately for the weather. We rarely cancel recess for cold weather. As Fall is in full swing and Winter is on the way, please take time to make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the colder temperatures.
