Give Thanks This Thanksgiving!

When children have a positive outlook, they do better in school. Thinking about the "good things" in one's life helps.

This Thanksgiving, take time to sit down together. Make and share lists of what you're thankful for. Be sure to mention school and any progress your child is making. Has a teacher done something special to help your child? Does a teacher make school so interesting that your child is happy to start each day?

Don't stop with just a list. Tell your child to take a few minutes to say "thanks."

Riverside RAM Night

Head on over to the RAM tonight, November 13th for dinner anytime from 4:00-8:00. A portion of your bill will go back to Riverside. Thank you for your support!

RAM Restaurant & Brewery is located at 709 E. Park Blvd.

Cold Weather Reminders

Brrrrrr! It's getting cold out there. Please make sure your child is dressing for the weather. Just a reminder, for safety reasons, please make sure your child is arriving at school no earlier than 8:45, as this is when we have full playground supervision.

Security Plan Update

Just a reminder, our school is utilizing a new controlled access entry at the main entrance. The controlled access entry assists us in monitoring visitor access in a centralized and consistent manner, increasing campus security. When visiting Riverside, please make certain that you proceed to the main entrance and utilize the video door buzzer to request admittance. Additionally, we employ the Raptor System, which requires all visitors to provide either a driver’s license or State issued identification card. Thank you for your continued support as we work to make Riverside a safe learning environment.

Dollar Drive for California Fires

As you are all aware, California has been devastated by wildfires this past week. The town of Paradise in Northern California was almost completely destroyed. To help the people of Paradise, Riverside Elementary is holding a dollar drive during the music performances on Thursday and Friday. Parents and students are encouraged to drop a donation in the donation boxes at the beginning of each performance. Mrs. Stranzl will be coordinating with the United Way of Northern California to share our donation. Thank you for your support.
