The Riverside Squawker
A Newsletter for our Riverside Community
Week of May 20, 2019
It's hard to believe we are in our final week of the 2018-2019 school year. This year has been one of tremendous growth and I am truly thankful to be traveling this journey alongside all of you and your children. Over the course of this year, I have been repeatedly blessed, humbled, and blown away by the love and support our community has shown to not only me as your new administrator, but also our students and staff. What an amazing neighborhood we have! As you enter into these summer months, I hope you are able to enjoy quality family time, rest, unforgettable vacations (or stay-cations), and endless bouts of joy, gratitude, and laughter.
Lastly, although this is our final week of school it is packed full of various events and classroom activities. With that in mind, please take some time to review the information below and check-in with classroom teachers if you have questions specific to end-of-year activities taking place within the classroom(s).
Thank you PTO!
End of Year Meds

Epi Pens and Inhalers not picked up by the last day of school will be sent home with the student, unless parent requests otherwise.
All other medications not picked up by the last day of school will be disposed of following Boise School District protocol.
Have a safe & healthy summer!

Lost and Found
For the past several years, Riverside has had one of the largest track teams in the district, and this year was no exception! With over 80 student athletes, there was plenty to keep coaches (Parks, Lyonsmith, Bale, & Merkley) busy teaching jumps, throws, races, and relays. The nice thing about track is that there is something for everyone, no experience necessary! Win or lose, participants stepped up with their best effort, encouragement for teammates, and strong sportsmanship throughout practices, events, and meets. So many parents and staff members helped as needed no matter what the weather conditions. A true track experience includes them all...sun, rain, wind, and more rain!
Congratulations to all who participated in both the regular season and qualifying meets! Check out the City Championship details by clicking here. We look forward to seeing several of you back for track next year.
