Thank you!

Riverside Families and Friends,

Happy Veterans Day! Many Riverside parents and staff members have served our country in the armed forces. If you've served in our armed forces, we say THANK YOU!

As we approach this Holiday season, I am reminded of all that we have to be grateful for here in our Riverside school community. I recently sat down and created a short list that included;

  • The BEST students ever! Seriously, if I could hang out with our students all day, I would.
  • Incredible community and PTO support. We recently raised $26,000 with our Monster Dash fundraiser.
  • Caring and committed teachers who work tirelessly to meet the needs of all students under their care.
  • Support staff that fill all the gaps and flex each day to make it ALL happen.
  • A school district that embraces the diversity of our student population, and continues to look for ways to meet the needs of all students.

Take care,

Mr. Anderson

PICTURE RETAKES!!!

*** PLEASE READ CAREFULLY***

* Picture retake day is scheduled for Friday, December 3rd.

* If you'd like a different picture of your student or if your student was absent, they may get a retake on this day. The student MUST return the picture packet so a re-order can be entered with the same packet information.

* If you've already paid for pictures but your student ended up being absent on picture day, your information is already in the Dorian system and all your student needs to do is come down and get a photo taken.

* All orders will be taken and paid for online and can be accessed by clicking this link to view the Dorian website. Enter the school name and click on December 3rd, order now. Unfortunately, there are no guarantees your order will be received before the Christmas break.

Regardless of purchase options, your child will be photographed to update our records. If you have further questions, contact our school office at 208-854-5980.

Holiday Resources for Boise School District Families

Boise School District has published a list of resources that provide support to our Boise Schools families throughout the holiday season. If you or someone you know could use a helping hand during the holidays, you can find more information here.

Ready to Lend a Holiday Helping Hand to a Community in Need?

The Riverside community has always been extremely generous and ready to help friends in need. You can help this holiday season by donating new items for one or more 'I Believe' Wilder Elementary Christmas Boxes! Donations will be collected in each classroom - the classroom with the most donations will win a donut party! Donations are due by Friday, December 3. Find out more about what we are collecting below. Thank you!

School Bus Update

As many of you are aware, bus schedules have improved but continue to be challenging. The bus company emailed instructions for downloading their parent bus tracking app. Please review your email for this communication from the bus company.

You are welcome to call the school at 208-854-5980 and we'll do our best to assist with late bus information. Our office is open for calls 8:15am-4:15pm. You can also contact the bus company directly at 208-854-5230. Their office hours are 5:00am-6:00pm.

News from the Front Office

Attendance - if your student will be absent, late or going to an appointment, please notify the office at riversideattendance@boiseschools.org or by calling 208-854-5980. We have a large call volume in the mornings, so please leave a message. If your student has a medical or dental appointment, please bring a note from that office excusing the tardy or absence.

Student check outs - When checking out a student during school hours, please bring photo ID to the front entrance and ring the office. Your ID will be verified and we will then call your student down to meet you. Students will not be permitted out of the building without proper adult identification nor will they be called to the office until you arrive so please allow for enough time for this process.

When checking a student in late or returning from an appointment, please come to the main entrance, ring the front office and state your students name and reason for the visit.

Parent Portal - If you are new to Riverside or have never obtained a login to Infinite Campus Parent Portal, please contact the office for assistance, or email Cyndi at cyndi.ashton@boiseschools.org. The purpose of the parent portal is to allow parents access to their child's grades, missing/late assignments, view attendance, view bus information, and update health and household important information. This is also where required documents sent by the district are located.

News from the Health Office

Illness Procedure: Recognizing that our community is currently in the Red Category for the spread of COVID-19, it’s more important than ever that we follow the Boise School District’s Illness Procedure, which includes a daily wellness check to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our schools. Staying home when you have symptoms of illness protects the school community by preventing the spread of illness and allowing individuals the opportunity to rest and recover. Our ultimate goal is to keep all our Riverside kids healthy and in school 5-days a week. We want to thank you for your continued patience and cooperation as we navigate the CDH/CDC guidelines when sending ill kiddos home with symptoms.

If a student has any of the symptoms on the Illness Decision Tree, they can return to school only when one of the following occurs:

  • 10 days from symptom onset and their symptoms have resolved
  • they have a documented negative COVID test and resolved symptoms
  • they have a documented alternate diagnosis from their healthcare provider

Before School Supervision

We have changed our before school procedures and are asking students to be dropped off after 9:00am. Thank you for your support.

Pick up/Drop off Lane

The student pick up/drop off lane is located on the west side of the building off of East Victory Road. It is essential that the line keeps moving, so please always drive to the top of the lane and keep moving forward as a car leaves. If your child needs more time to transition out of the car, please park in the adjacent parking lot or utilize the parking lot on the east side of the building next to the public library. With so many students at Riverside, we ask that everyone remain careful and cautious while navigating student pick up and drop off.
