The Riverside Squawker
A Newsletter for our Riverside Community
Week of April 6, 2020
From Mr. Anderson
Riverside Families and Friends,
We miss you all like crazy! As in, we are literally going crazy missing our students (see my picture for proof).
This week is the second week of Phase I for continued learning for students in the Boise School District. If you haven’t yet, please take the time to check out this link: Learning & Essential Services. The learning opportunities for Phase I (listed on the site) will conclude on Friday, April 10th.
Phase II begins next week, the week of April 13th. To prepare for Phase II, teachers are reaching out again with questions about internet/wifi connectivity. Please let us know how we can help!
Beginning the week of April 13th, lessons will be presented in a similar format and made available on the Boise School District website (www.boiseschools.org). If you/your students are unable to access the weekly learning platform via the internet then hard copies will be available for pick-up at Riverside on Monday, April 13th @ 9:00-11:00.
Device Check Out
If your student needs to check out a device (this includes Boise School District Junior High and High School students) you may do so this week. For those who need a device, here is a document detailing our Riverside device process and check-out times. Please know we have plenty of devices for all who have requested them. We are asking all of you to stay in your car during the check out process until you are directed to do differently. Your patience during this process is appreciated.
Our Riverside Connect schedule for this week includes:
Tuesday - 4/7, Riverside Community Art Project - Post pics on Facebook
Wednesday - 4/8, Mrs. Brownlee - Cooking Show - Making kid friendly snacks @ 3pm
Thursday - 4/9, Riverside Community Courage - Post pics students showing courage at home/ or in the community
Friday - 4/10, Mrs.Thomas Musical Story @ 3pm

Box Tops for Riverside
The BTFE collection process has changed and according to BTFE, the new process is here to stay. If you haven't done so yet, please take time to read the attached flyer for the new process. It is important to scan your receipts within 14 days of purchase. Scanning your receipt only takes a few seconds, and many times we are granted bonus box tops as well, if you have products with both traditional and the digital Box Tops scanning them gives extra credits. Please help to make our goal of $1,000 this year. If you have questions on the process you can email Olivia McGregor at firstname.lastname@example.org.
