From Mr. Anderson

Parents and Families,

It has been great having students back at school. Our first few weeks have been filled with fun, learning and friendship as all of us are getting in the groove of our school year together. We have amazing students at Riverside who bring so much energy, joy and love into our lives each day. In these challenging times, I want to thank all of you for your patience and grace as we navigate late buses, changing health protocols and much more.

Please see below for information related to you and your family. If you look deep enough, you'll even see a short info sheet on the new school planned for Harris Ranch - Dallas Harris Elementary.

Take care,

Mr. Anderson

News from the Front Office

Attendance - if your student will be absent, late or going to an appointment, please notify the office at or by calling 208-854-5980. We have a large call volume in the mornings, so please leave a message. If your student has a medical or dental appointment, please bring a note from that office excusing the tardy or absence.

Student check outs - When checking out a student during school hours, please bring photo ID to the front entrance and ring the office. Your ID will be verified and we will then call your student down to meet you. Students will not be permitted out of the building without proper adult identification nor will they be called to the office until you arrive so please allow for enough time for this process.

When checking a student in late or returning from an appointment, please come to the main entrance, ring the front office and state your students name and reason for the visit.

Parent Portal - If you are new to Riverside or have never obtained a login to Infinite Campus, please contact the office for assistance or email Cyndi at The purpose of the parent portal is to allow parents to access their child's grades, missing/late assignments, view attendance, view bus information, and update health and household important information. This is also where required documents sent by the district are located.

News from the Health Office

Illness Procedure: Recognizing that our community is currently in the Red Category for the spread of COVID-19, it’s more important than ever that we follow the Boise School District’s Illness Procedure, which includes a daily wellness check to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our schools. If a student has any of the symptoms on the Illness Decision Tree, they can return to school with one of the following:

  • after 10 days when their symptoms have resolved
  • they have a negative COVID test with improved symtoms
  • an alternate diagnosis from a healthcare provider.
  • Staying home when you have symptoms of illness protects the school community by preventing the spread of illness and allowing individuals the opportunity to rest and recover. Our ultimate goal is to keep kids in school 5-days a week.

Emergency Response Procedures

The Boise School District has published the Emergency Response Procedures for parents/guardians. Please review these procedures here.

What's for lunch today? Supply Chain impacts on Cafeteria Offerings

Continued supply chain challenges are having occasional effects on offerings in our cafeteria, sometimes at the last minute. When possible, changes will be posted on the Riverside public calendar on the school website. We appreciate your patience!

Lunch will continue to be provided free of charge this year. If your student would like a 2nd lunch they will be charged $2.20 and ala carte milk will have a $0.50 charge..

Before School Supervision

We have changes our before school procedures and are asking students to be dropped off later than 9:00am. Thank you for your support

Dallas Harris Elementary FAQ

Boise School District has provided an update and answers to some of the common questions related to the new elementary school in the Harris Ranch area. You'll find that info here.

Pick up/Drop off Lane

The student pick up/drop off lane is located on the west side of the building off of East Victory Road. It is also essential that the line keeps moving, so please always drive to the top of the lane and keep moving forward as a car leaves. If your child needs more time to transition out of the car, please park in the adjacent parking lot or utilize the parking lot on the east side of the building next to the public library. With so many students at Riverside, we ask that everyone remain careful and cautious while navigating student pick up and drop off.
