A Message From Mr. Holder
Students and Parents of Centennial High School,
The beginning of the school year is upon us and I wanted to take the opportunity to say how excited I am that kids will be back in school either in person or virtually. We, at Centennial, have been missing our kids and we are eagerly anticipating the chance to see them again.
I know a common phrase we hear is “getting back to normal”. Though things will be a bit different with students attending in person and virtually, we will work to make the experiences I know each of you have been getting lots of information from many points, but know that we will be here, patiently walking your kid through how things will be this year in class and in school. We hope that the staggered in person roll in for us will help students see and understand what the “normal” will be this year.
Being a SPARTAN is a great thing and we want each student to have a great experience to match. Monday will be the start of a great year and I cannot wait for each of the kids to be here.
I hope all of you have a great weekend and we will see you on August 31st.
1st Day of School Reminders
- Know which day, if any, you come to school next week. Only students who identified as "On Campus" students will be at school on their designated days. All others will log in from home. 9th Grade - Monday/Friday, 10th Grade - Tuesday, 11th Grade - Wednesday, 12th Grade - Thursday.
- For those coming to school, make sure to have a mask and be prepared to wear it all day.
- Make sure to log into your chromebook prior to the 1st day of school.
- Familiarize yourself with Schoology. It'll become your best friend.
- Make sure you know how to access Zoom in each of your Schoology courses.
- Check your schedule in Skyward to see if any courses have changed. We will not print schedules at school so make sure to either print a copy or access it on your phone.
- Make sure your clothes are in dress code. (see below)
- Be ready to have a great school year!
We are pleased to announce homecoming this year on September 24 at AT&T Stadium! This is an incredible opportunity to continue our homecoming and Boot Bowl traditions at AT&T Stadium. We look forward to kicking off another great football season with students of all ages and families joining us!
Please note that TEA and UIL have placed restrictions on our traditional ceremonies, preventing us from recognizing our homecoming court on the field. We will plan accordingly for our homecoming court to be videoed in advance and then recognized during the school day, on social media, as well as at AT&T stadium.
Ticket sales for games this season will be made available online the week of each game.
More details about homecoming and school procedures will be available in the next few weeks. In the meantime, let’s get excited for a great school year together! We look forward to seeing you all next week - on campus and virtually!
